Video Game General 6.3: Sekiro has so many damn chickens man. Chickens Everywhere!

@GPK Here’s a new course I made in SMM. It’s more of a facelift from an earlier level I made. It’s tough, but I think it’s fun. And fair.

The game being first person, didn’t do itself any favors, this last tweet made it easier to ignore completely.

DQXI hurts though. I’d heard about the composer before, but after seeing one of his articles published and translated, I noped on that one. I LOVED the cell shaded look too :frowning:

@Chadouken. Thanks! I’ll check it out later.

You know you can’t play any games or watch any media or probably read almost any books if that’s all it takes to stop you from playing/seeing them. Just cause people aren’t showing their fucked up side doesn’t mean they aren’t fucked up. I’m not saying to support crazy people, I’m just saying most people just hide their fucked up shit. If you can’t separate the work from the creator/artist, then you can barely enjoy anything ever.

Warhawk is getting its server shut down in 2 days. My copy is going to turn into a coaster. I’ve been steering away from online-only games for a while and anything digital in general for a while now. I saw The Division for dirt cheap a couple of times but it’s an online-only game and you know it won’t always be around.

PS All Stars is getting shut down as well as some other game. I might actually play my copy to knock out the online trophies since they’re pretty easy, before I don’t even have the option to do so. My copy is still sealed so hoepfully the ONLINE PASS isn’t expired like a lot of codes tend to be.

Shame about the game itself though. I wish it was more like PowerStone than Smash. Only being able to kill with supers is really dumb too.

yep, this is why online-only gaming is retarded…but sadly a lot of gamers are ok with games that eventually disappear. I’m sure there’s still fans of that Marvel Heroes game that would like to play it right now but NOPE. Whenever the legal mess apparently going on with the Friday the 13th franchise finally blows up I’m sure that game will be taken away too…(if not from that it will when the popularity drops enough that it’s no longer worth keeping the servers up)… just like Battleborn, The Division, and now Fallout 76, and so many other things will eventually disappear… but gamers today are short-sighted and silly enough to be perfectly ok with this foolishness.

That shit is just stupid… like imagine it in anything else—let’s say music industry… you bought a new album digitally from your favorite group. Behind the scenes, shit hits the fan and they break up. Since that group is no longer a thing, oops your album no longer works. Well I guess you just can’t listen to that anymore. People are ok with this? Seriously bruh? Get the fuck out of here with that.

Yeah keep buying those games that are coasters and digital rentals that might be totally gone/unplayable in about 1 year or less, guys. That sure is a WISE consumer decision right there. Sure. :ok_hand::rofl:

I’m in your choir, man.

PREACH.

Not true. That’s just assumptions. Sure there’s going to be people with same toxic ideas in the industry and I can’t do it to EVERYONE but a little at a time is something I can do. That composer has made BANK working on that series and to see where he puts his money on full display is just gross. If other works I’ve enjoyed had come to light as his, I’d do the same thing.

I’ve stopped listening to some bands and musicians for the same reason. Even food brands.

When it comes to luxury and non-luxury items, I don’t have a problem dropping them.

I really don’t care. FPS is fine, it works great, especially in a cyberpunk setting, Deus Ex is FPS and its brilliant. As for their tweets an shit I dont fucking care.

Not one single thing of note has ever been said on Twitter, so it isnt worth investing any kind of emotion in.

Whats this about the Dragon Warrior composer?

It’s an assumption but it’s definitely true that plenty of people are fucked up and just hide it. All it takes to know that is to be human. I guess I don’t see why you would just stop at what you just happen to come across. Like, if you had never heard that the DQXI composer was like that, would you have bought it? How many other things do you consume that have people involved that do horrible shit that you just don’t know about?

Also, I’m not saying what you’re doing something wrong, only that stopping at only what you’ve come across instead of actively seeking it out seems inconsistent. I’ve had very similar thoughts but in the end if you don’t separate them, it’ll never end and you’ll have to become a hermit. And heck, some people do actually go that far. I’ve just decided the only way I can continue to live and not completely cut my self off from society is to just look at the work/end product itself. If the work itself promotes things I disagree with or the end product is unhealthy for me or something then yeah, I don’t consume it.

I dont give a fuck what people say. I have one life and I try to enjoy it rather than be shocked by what every piece of shit has to say. I’m having fun playing DQXI, don’t give a fuck if one of the dude who worked on it decides to become some psychopath mass murderer. I have better things to do and to take care of.

You can’t catch everything but the ones you do catch, you can make the decision from there, even if it’s much later and you’ve supported said product in the past (I have DQ VIII, because I forgot to return it before I moved).

I’d have to double check (at work on phone right now) but I think he was on TV laughing about people that have killed themselves for being bullied about being homosexual. This one I’d have to cross reference though, and I’ll edit this post afterwards. Just wanted to respond to your post, because you’re good peeps.

The WW2 denials are another thing on top of the anti-LGBT.

My point is that stopping at only what you happen to come across seems hypocritical. If you’re willing to return or stop using products you’ve already purchased after finding out about something bad, then shouldn’t you check absolutely everything? How many other shitbags are you unknowingly supporting, if that’s your viewpoint.

And I mean, the work itself doesn’t have anti-gay messages or anything. Like, does all the work everyone else put in it not matter? I just don’t think there’s any consistency to that kind of action unless you really go all the way. But that’s all I have to say on the matter

That’s what i was about to say, the hundreds of people whose work you have allowed to be invalided due to one person who worked on one part of the product, and none of his opinions are in said product.

Throwin out the baby with the bath water imo.

It’s not hypocritical if you don’t know about it, and assuming everyone and everything is the same isn’t productive either. It’s the same as throwing out the baby with the bath water. I had some family members who used to say the same thing way back when it was found that Nike was using child labor and armed guards to keep people from protesting work conditions on the factory line. They said all the other companies did it too, without proof of course, and to this day Nike’s competitors still haven’t been proven to do this.

You can’t do 100% of everything you want in life, so that should that stop you from doing anything? Hardly. Changing things up isn’t something to be ashamed about and people change for the better, and worse, all the time.

in b4 Foxxcon.

My biggest issue with Dragon Quest composer is that he supplies the games with shitty MIDI versions of his compositions. He holds on to the orchestral versions to be sold in albums or live performances. For some reason he feels that fans won’t buy the albums or attend shows if they are available in the game.

Now you see FUCK THAT. dont give me th shitty music trying to get my ass to buy the real versions. Put the good versions in the game shit head, if I like em, I’ll buy the stupid album.

Look at every Final Fantasy OST ever since they went Orchestral.

That’s a stupid way to think. Does this guy pay attention to how the industry works now? I can enjoy a track in game which on turn would drive me to support that same track via a released album of it. I look forward to hearing everything in Smash but wouldn’t hesitate to own a copy of the soundtrack for myself. No more holding back in game music what with how big storage is now.

heh, I happened to catch a stream of someone playing Dragonquest XI and that music sounded like soooooo much wet, stank ass…and yeah it was MIDI… like we went back to the SNES/Genesis days of music, only I recall hearing better music back then, actually. (e.g.–Actraiser’s soundtrack kicks the shit out of just about everything.)

Guacamelee has become my main jam lately… I already had it on Vita but I’ve finally put quality time into the Switch version now…it naturally gets better and more interesting as you unlock more moves/abilities.

I might get Starlink later… Switch version of course—it’s kinda funny that this game looks like the real “next-gen Starfox” fans have been waiting on for the past several years.
