I’m referring to the fact that unlike Zero, X doesn’t feel like he’s been brought straight from the series into a fighter, but rather is a fighter trying to emulate X.
He lacks mobility, has to stop to fire the buster, and unlike Zero, can’t move and hold a charge at the same time.
The armor install doesn’t do much for him… He can’t charge special weapons, and again, the special weapons they chose for him only make sense as functions to support characters like Zero for easy switch ins.
That level 3 is absurdly terrible animation and function wise.
I think that is my ultimate problem with how X is designed-- He’s built to support other mofos like Zero rather than being able to function on his own.
Some characters are built to be a good support character, which X is. He’s not the only one:
Dormammu, Thor, rocket raccoon, and a few others are that as well.
X can set up his own L/R mix ups and adds a lot of hitboxes on screen for partner tags. Je probably cant move during charge cause it would feel to samey to Zero if he could. Especially considering both get a charge buster moveset
Lacks mobility? He has an air dash…are you expecting him to be Iron Man or something?
Okay, he has to stop to fire the buster…so? MM has to do the same in Smash, same for his appearances in MvC1-2 and TvC. He has 4 followups to a shot on the ground, and his air buster is pretty great.
Armor Install is pretty good since it amplifies his zoning and approach by a lot. His buster charges FAST, and upgraded charge shots cover a lot of space and can keep people out pretty well.
His special weapons are fine. Sonic Slicer covers the air pretty well, Rising fire can start combos and otherwise reach the area above his head, Boomerang Cutter is great for mixups, and Shotgun Ice is good for trapping.
Level 3 animation isn’t perfect, but the damage is great and the startup hitbox is his entire body, a la MM’s hyper from MvC1/2.
I really don’t get what the point of your complaints are. He’s a solid character, and most/all of your complaints can be addressed by spending some time with him in the lab.
I think we’re missing each other here. His functions are fine I guess for what he does in this game, but to me, there’s a lack of polish and care to the character.
Almost as if they threw him in here to appease all the criticism they got for no Mega Man in MvC 3, but didn’t really finish the thought.
Again, like everything else in this game, there is a base there that could be, and should be excellent, but the overall lack of polish and attention diminishes the character as a whole.
And whomever composed that “theme” is catching a running dropkick if I catch them in public.
You can argue design/aesthetic all day since that’s always very subjective, but Megaman is definitely a good character on his own. He can fight for himself and set up his own pressure and has pretty solid mobility with his air dash and buster cancels. He just also is good for support. Similar to Ultron where he can take care of himself but has a lot of tools to support other characters.
X isnt known to have 289182 moves at his disposal at once. He’s not known to have a 900 hit combo. He uses the tools he needs to use in battle. You expected him to have a movelist like a tekken character?
So Blue Reflection may actually not be 720p on PC and there could be some sort of lost in translation stuff going on
Sony has no plans to make a Switch competitor
Someone at GS said they heard some rumor about Sony making one and I told them I hadn’t heard anything about it and wasn’t expecting it for various reasons.
LA Noire on Switch will be 1080p docked 720p handheld, will have all the dlc and will have motion and touch controls
I can’t remember seeing any x-men in this game like the previous one…would be funny if Marvel went that far. Yeah I’m checking through most of the trailers and I’m not seeing any mutants lol.
I don’t like that Star Fox 2 needs to be unlocked. If I had this thing that would have been the very first game I played. You still need to press buttons on the console to access the menu. There’s been no quality of life improvements from the NES classic.
