I haven’t watched that shit but the preview picture for Bojack makes me laugh a bit every time…because at a glance, his head and face look like such a phallic symbol…similar to the old Joe Camel character for those cigarettes… dude looks like a penis creature with a face.

On another note—I was reminiscin’ about that first game I remember playing… the greatness that is Defender II… still amazing how much thought went into a game that was made about 35 years ago…

Skyrim- most fans would know about the “Better Vampires” mod by this point, but this guy goes over sooo much detail with it in a long vid here… the shit looks TOO awesome, and it is perfect for vampire-obsessed weirdos like me…I’m definitely digging into this as a top priority once I get around to mods (*I may just keep that relegated to playing the PC version though)

Enthralling/dominating people, different ranks of vampirism, starting you off as a chump “fledgling”, turning people, changing it so the sun actually starts frying your skin, taking damage from being inside people’s homes uninvited, superhuman strength (surprising that’s not actually a thing in the base game anyway; it’s quite a basic detail in just about any vampire lore that even the “weak” ones are super strong compared to normal humans) etc. etc. etc. It’s all there. With and perhaps without mods, actually… Skyrim is absolutely my favorite vampire game of all time, man. The only thing that even comes close is Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen…and it’s a damn shame that franchise was left to die for whatever reason.

Uncanny Valley is a survival horror game that includes a mix of exploration, puzzle solving and a bit of action with a lot of optional story content. We’re trying to preserve the old survival horror kind of gameplay instead of following the modern trend of creating a third person shooter with horror elements.

Story:
You play as a security guard named Tom at a remote facility. He’s in charge of the night shift, while his lazy partner Buck is in charge of the day shift. Nights are long, so Tom starts exploring the facility and finds things he shouldn’t. The story plays a huge part in the game, so saying anything more would be a major spoiler.

Consequence system:
Uncanny Valley’s main difference from other games is a thing we like to call the consequence system. Whenever you fail at something, the game goes on, but with harsh consequences for your character that can impact both the story and the gameplay.

For example - you fail at avoiding your attackers, meaning your character will move slower throughout the game, making it harder to escape future pursuers. The player then needs to be careful and more clever, which adds more tension to the game. Of course, there are mistakes you can do that lead to your death, but we’re trying to avoid that as much as possible.

Why? Because dying and repeating the same section over and over is tedious and leads to frustration. The game stops being scary if you’re angry and just want to rush through it, so we think that adding such a system will still keep the tension while adding a new layer to scariness.

Beat Dragon Quest VIII last night, highest level character was 42, had only 1 ultimate weapon (Warlord axe).

I’m not exactly sure how to optimize the two guest characters (trying to prevent spoilers) so I just chose claws and knives/swords and their respective non-weapon skill trees. I’m willing to bet that correctly optimized, they could replace one of the main characters.

Skill point system is still kind of dumb, for a lot of things there is absolutely no reason to complete the skill tree because you only need to get up to the sp level that grants +25 attack bonus with the weapon. For example, Yangus only needs 2 axe skills: Helm Splitter (lowers enemies defense on hit, attack bonus, costs 0 mp, arguably best ability in the game) and Parallax (gives a huge attack bonus, basically can’t miss, can paralyze). Jessica only needs 1 whip skill: Twin Dragon Lash (makes her the hardest hitting character in the game if she has her ultimate whip).

Hero is the only character where you really need to max 2 skill trees (courage and spears), or if you went swords/boomerangs, Courage still needs to be maxed.

I actually went through every city (both day and night) talking to people trying to get alchemy recipes (I was trying to complete the game without using gamefaqs…) and I got 4, only 1 of which was useful. Thanks for the goddamn CHEESE recipes (who uses this crap?)

Glad I finished it, I have a tendency to ignore everything else while trying to beat a specific game. Now I can take it easy and complete everything at the endgame.
