Shadows of the Damned was a game that I felt like was being made specifically for me. Shinji Mikami, Suda51 and Akira Yamaoaka all working together on a grindhouse style game. Should have been pretty much perfect. The whole thing was just kind of mediocre though, I didn’t even finish it.
Nah I’m glad suda didn’t compromise. Suda is one of my favourite developers and one who’s unique imagination should never give into other’s demands for censorship. There is nothing wrong with jiggalo missions. People got triggered over the fact that main character is attracted to women and bashed the game as a whole. They failed to mention that if you fail jiggalo missions you still become friends with the women and receive your upgrade anyway.
Fuck those idiotic reviews it was an awesome and fun game.
My only complaint about the game is that it’s too short.
Another thing to note… Atleast the EU release of KID… The standard release of the game was marketed as
"limited edition". Suda knew it wasn’t going to sell very well yet he goes out of his way to get his games out there in the open.
Nothing but respect for him and the style he and his games has.
so i wasn’t going to post this, but ive been seeing it everywhere from sites that normally don’t even post rumors. I don’t know who this Dr. Serkan Toto guy is but apparently he’s pretty well respected in games journalism.
I remember Sonicabid and exposedd raving about how GDLK Shadows of the Damned was, I was curious about it just because of the names involved although I remember both Mikami and Suda saying they were unhappy with how it turned out.
I never understood why Grasshopper Manufacture don’t get the respect they deserve as one of the most consistent and creative developers around they deserve as much praise as the Platinums and BioWares of the industry.
It would be nice if we get a big Super Mario Maker DLC announcement of some kind. New level themes like desert and beach, water tiles, slopes, more powerups, more vertical space, etc. Shit we’ve been asking for for a while now.
