Yeah the SJW presence in gaming does worry me, particularly around Microsoft.
The last thing I want to see is Dark Queen remade into a super-strong womyn who wears a hoodie and jeans and enjoys reading non-fiction. Fuck you Microsoft, gimme them nipples.
Or you could play the “actual new fucking games” that are actually coming out, that you casually dismiss because, in an incredibly ludicrous case of irony, they don’t have AAA production values.
I don’t need AAA production values… I need games to not look like we’re still living in the late 80’s as an excuse for not trying on the aesthetics, or yet another kickstarter scam.
And as I was telling you in the chat, you don’t even pay attention to the games that don’t have NES/SNES-era aesthetics. Because there have been way more coming out in the past five years than you realize.
I say there’s nothing wrong with backwards compatability. It’s a great way to help move your consumer base to the new product. It motivated me to get a Wii in the first place. However, I also hold the (apparently) unpopular opinion that new games shouldn’t be getting PS360 ports.
Some gamers do enjoy AAA production values, some gamers do want remasters of games we already paid for, some gamers don’t assume every kickstarter game is a scam.
It’s called freedom of choice and capitalism.
Gears of War remaster going to sell like crazy, you guys wouldn’t believe how many people let their nostalgia blind them from how shitty and at times unplayable it was online. If they can make it work and not have shitty online I just might cop an Xbone next year after a price drop of course.
