Square Enix announced NieR New Project, a new NieR game that promises a blend of action and RPG gameplay style developed by Platinum Games exclusively for PlayStation 4.

The game’s staff is as follows:

Director: Yoko Taro
Producer: Yosuke Saito
Game Designer: Takahisa Taura (*Metal Gear Rising*)
Composer: Keiichi Okabe (*Drakengard*)

According to Platinum Games producer Atsushi Inaba, the request was to instill new strength in the NieR franchise by levering Platinum’s specialty, action.

Here’s Square Enix’s official description:

NieR New Project is a new third-person action role-playing game (RPG) and follow-up to the 2010 cult hit NieR. Offering a fresh blend of action and RPG gameplay styles, NieR New Project is currently being developed in collaboration with PlatinumGames Inc. The game’s all-star development team consists of producer Yosuke Saito (DRAGON QUEST X/NieR), director YOKO TARO (Drakengard/NieR), character designer Akihiko Yoshida from CyDesignation, Inc. (FINAL FANTASY XIV / BRAVELY DEFAULT), game designer Takahisa Taura from PlatinumGames Inc. (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance), and composer Keiichi Okabe from MONACA, Inc. I feel better about the game now.

Looks kinda like LoK except with transformations instead of elemental stance changes. That game was highly underrated. Thank goodness this one is getting a full retail release since being a short downloadable title is IMO what held LoK back.

EDIT: Bumblebee has the airbending tatsu and the firebending multiple punches. So it’s definitely the same animations.

Also there was a actual usa commercial that DID show part of the Aeris death scene too trying to find it. Just shocked they would even show that in a commercial for what it was.

Edit: Found it. Seriously so many spoilers in all these usa commercials. Really good voice over and music really hype stuff.
