PC conference is shit because a large amount of their big titles are multi platform games which were played in other conferences, so it’s either repeat stuff or show stuff people don’t care about and they chose the latter.
When the best news from your conference is a port (a port which I’m really happy about and will buy but still just a port nonetheless) you need to rethink your conference.
While it’s cool that they are remaking this instead of bringing the PC port to ps4(are they still doing that shit?), I was hoping for something on Chrono Trigger as people were losing their shit on that music tease. Anyway, I dig 15’s mechanics so far, and since this remake is revamping the game, it would be interesting to have similar action commands. But I’m getting old and I think my arthritis/carpal tunnel/RTS can only handle so much, that if they were to keep it as a turn base, it would be nice.

Personally I think it shouldn’t have random encounters and should have models at least you can run into. Thing about turn based in 7 is it has an action system so you need to constantly make decisions in Real-Time or your opponent will hit you in the face until you die. I could stand a XV or Lightning Returns style Action RPG if they could somehow keep the materia system relevant / exceptional since that system was the best augment system the series ever had by a lot. Also maybe have 2 modes 1 with standard turn based and a second with turn based but add some additional action commands like Paper Mario or something to keep the player engaged.
I also I would like more Easter eggs as that was what made 7 special. The story is not bad, but the side content with cross dressing, Vincent, Yuffie, Chocobo Racing, Being able to skip bosses by doing optional content, Optional extra story by going places at certain point in the game storyline that weren’t mandatory were what made the game have that extra special flair to it.
Honestly if it was the same game I would love it as unlike Chrono Trigger whose sprites stand the test of time, the polygon blocks of VII are just blood gushingly bad. I wouldn’t change Chrono Trigger ever and so if VII stays turn based I’d be ok with that also as the games great draw was rarely the combat.
