My reactions to ff7 and shenmue were basically the same “oh? Cool.” Like it’s hard for me to get legit excited and hype for games anymore. I think the last time I truly got excited about some games being announced were sfiv and mvc3. And I absolutely hate and loathe both titles now.
plus I think not really liking ff7 helps. I don’t think it’s a bad game. I just don’t give a shit about any of the characters or story. The battle system was solid which was all I cared about. Same with ff6. I’ve never played an rpg with such a huge cast of characters and so much going on but not giving a fuck about any of them. That said I am looking forward to the remake of 7
As for Shenmue I didn’t play it until waaay after the dreamcast and it did not age well. At all. It’s controls are garbage but I loved everything else about the game. The story and depth of the characters and their universe were amazing. Especially since a lot of the areas were based on real places. That’s pretty much why I kicked it. I appreciate they are making cinema shorts for 1&2 as a stretch goal so you can watch those and get caught up. It won’t be the same as playing them or watching them being played but it’s a nice gesture.
I like Phil Spencer pretty okay but he’s gotta be feeling like Justin after Evo moment 37.
Also, why the fuck isn’t there an option for a physical PS4 copy of Shenmue III on kickstarter? Guess I’m gonna hold out for now and see if they add one later.
Imma need some expansion on this. You felt nothing for any of the characters in 6? Cyan having his wife child and kingdom poisoned, the plight of the figaro brothers, Terra’s struggle with being alone. I just don’t understand how someone can feel nothing with all the scenarios thrown at you in this game.
I hope FF7R plays exactly the same as the original but fixes the two bugs in the battle system: W-Item glitch, and keep the magic defense fix they did in the PC re-release.
Oh and throw in some extra bosses/dungeons for fun like the remakes of FF1-6 had.
Iwata has to tell people again that NX will not be a part of the Digital Event
Event will focus on WiiU/3DS games from second half of this year into early next year. Assume that Zelda has probably been pushed out of the Fiscal and won’t show up until after March 2016.
