I disagree. This step shows that big companies are finally acknowledging the power of crowd funding. If all goes well, then this may be a way for mid-level, non-AAA games to return.

Well man so far this E3 has been a win for me. I still got a chance of avoiding the AV change with bets on Konami and Star Fox. Even then people are throwin such a fit…takes the fun out of it.

a lot of love went into the game. the areas were modeled on actual places in japan and china, it was very authentic. the art style gave every inhabitant in the game a life like persona, their faces had more personality than most games even today. it had a deep martial arts theme that required the player to learn martial arts moves through conversation and relationships; there was no button diagram to learn moves but it was explained well enough for you to just get it. the fighting was fluid with slight unpredictability about it, if you actually did any martial arts you’d know it feels very similar to real fighting.

its just a superior game to a point where the intelligence in the art holds the game up to a spiritual level

One thing I DO NOT understand: How the hell are FF7 Remake and Shenmue 3 not exclusive to PS4!? Sony just missed out on two biggest possible system sellers one could ever have! Like, WTF! It’s a no-brainer both of those should’ve been only on PlayStation, especially Shenmue 3, and not getting funded via kickstaret but being fully funded by Sony

The first two Shenmues’ poor sales lost SEGA quite a hefty chunk of change, so it only makes sense that Sony would want to see if people are willing to put their money where their mouths are before contributing to the project.

That being said, announcing the Kickstarter at E3 just looks bad for everyone.

That may be possible, but something just seemed wrong about Suzuki pleading for money on the stage of such a big publisher. I mean, we all knew just by the fact that a Kickstarter existed that Sony didn’t have complete faith in the game, but having the announcement at E3 essentially has Sony come out and blatantly say that outright. While Suzuki is standing right there. It just felt awkward.

Shenmue 3 was never going to happen without some sort of crowd fund going anyway.

However, the name has enough cred with gamers that having it at E3 would almost be a sure win for them.

I never thought of this as a console vs console nonsense. I personally was just simply hyped for the games that I wanted to see come out, however you’ll have a few dunce cap morons turning it into such a thing. It’s Srk.com after all, and drama is never far away from any thread. 12 years here, and the same shit happens all the time because their always has to be some sort of dick measuring.
