"These niggas at Capcom really don’t know yet? WE WANT FUCKING DMC. Shit was selling fine until Tameem’s smug ass fucked it up and now the whole series it at risk. YOU MOTHER FUCKERS MADE THOSE CHANGES IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I’d argue they fucked up the franchises prospects with DMC4. They shipped a half finished game, then slept on the series for like 5 years before making a new one. DmC didn;t help, but DMC4 is where the “we don;t really give a fuck” train left the station.
I knew this was gonna happen. But what makes me mad is that they are acting like niggas don’t care about DMC because DmC didnt do well for obvious reasons.
I kinda wish RE HD didn’t sell as well as it did because i feel since Capcom said they are gonna focus on HD ports that they’re gonna go trigger happy with "Ay rebuy this game or we wont make a sequel " for series that that they know damn well niggas want a sequel for
Wasn’t it half-cooked because MS threw money at Capcom to put it on 360, late in development? I liked what was there, and didn’t mind the back tracking. I really hope for a new DMC from Itsuno and Co.
The way Capcom is handling this annoys me a little, to be honest.
Naw it was multi-plat from the beginning if I remember right. There’s no solid reason for why they shipped a half finished game, but i think the obvious conclusion to come to is they made Dante playable. Fans bitched and moaned that we where playing as Nero (which makes the DmC thing even funnier in hind sight now that I think about it) that I’m confident in saying someone high up at Capcom told them to make him playable and thus the back half of the game was lopped off to give Dante something to do. Right when Nero starts getting interesting to play with, and you start really getting a handle on the guy they swap protags on you and then recycle the levels.
funny 2 me that they are doing this “buy it or you’ll never see it again” with one of the crappiest games in the series.
i would have supported a standalone HD remake of DMC1 for ps4 or a DMC3 super special edition , or something.
I was just insulted by the insinuation that Mega Man didn’t help Capcom become what it was… Mega Man 2 shattered sales records at the time and was instrumental in convincing Disney to license their IP to them, hence why all those awesome Disney games like Ducktales were running on a modified Mega Man engine.
Capcom used the money those games (and 1942) made to experiment with new arcade games, like a certain fighting game sequel that changed everything.
So…I checked Spike’s schedule and they are barely covering E3 this year. They’re doing Microsoft’s conference an hour of E3 All Access aaaand then that’s it. Guess people who want to watch it through cable this year are SOL.
I’m going to assume they aren’t doing as big a focus because Geoff probably isn’t hosting
