I don’t really like external storage for consoles. I guess it’s more popular on systems where you can’t just buy an OEM drive and swap it out, but thankfully I’ve only had to do it for my WiiU. I have a 320gb WD Passport on my WiiU (which is overkill considering how small the games are in regards to filesize), but it’s not like I have a choice. That is the only system I have with an external attached to it, and I can’t imagine why it would ever be someone’s first choice (but hey, “that’s just, like, uhh… [my] opinion, man!”). Maybe people already have externals laying around that they can use?
Either way, for me it’s an easy decision: $80 and 5 minutes of work (assuming you take 3 minutes to find a screwdriver), and you’ll likely never have to worry about capacity again for the rest of the generation. Loading times will be slightly improved, as well. http://smile.amazon.com/Seagate-Laptop-2-5-Inch-Internal-ST1000LM014/dp/B00B99JUBQ
What I did was I got this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ILALU9G At the time I nabbed it for $85 shipped
Crack the case open, take the 2TB HDD out and install it in my PS4.
The External is just HDD in a plastic shell and a SATA to USB adapter.
Remember this is the same NOA that nearly passed on Xenoblade, which was already translated in english in Europe, until Operation Rainfall got them to finally bring it over. They also passed on Last Story, which they helped fund and publish in Japan and Europe, while Xseed published here.
There is no risk just putting it on the damn eshop.
Footage from a month ago, doesn’t look anywhere as janky compared to before. It’s not that graphically impressive but fuck graphics. NOA probably would have passed on Anarchy Reigns too. If it is bad though then that sucks.
I want to say it’s because they are transitioning to a new console, but we don’t know what the NX is yet. Apparently retailers are prepping to receive it next year.
