Video Game General 3.0 - You know what should come back? Pre-rendered backgrounds!

You do have to agree it is a more of a problem now than it was prior to the PS360 gen

“Triple A” bullshit million-dollar ad campaign games have NO EXCUSE when it comes to shipping with bugs.

You spend all that money on stupid shit like actors and DLC, then the fucking game itself should at least work fucking properly…

Go ahead and click Disagree and WTF despite the truth spoken in this post.

I only click your react buttons cuz you keep asking me to for some reason.

I think defective products have been a concept since the dawn of time. -shrug-

As bad as some games were, Dr Jerkle and Mr Hyde (NES) or Dark Wing Duck on the Turbo Graphics 16, E.T. on the Atari 2600 You could still play them.
They were no where as broken as Assassin Creed Unity, Halo MCC

In the old days the poorly made games were the budget games that quickly made it into the bargain bin at KB Toys or Electronic Boutique.
I agree with Po, there no reason for games with Hollywood sized summer block buster budgets to be shipped broken.
It is inexcusable.

Having bugs can is inevitable, now, being an unplayable mess or having bugs that are easily detected, that another story.

The fact that companies think they can ship a game with gamebreaking bugs in tact is fucked up. A bug so easy to find but they still release it? These damn publishers don’t deserve the studios they get, I hope they abandon all of them.

Doesn’t help that these companies ignore the stuff that is found and reported in QA in order to meet their precious deadlines.

Hell yeah man… they have my “Plane & Tank Battle” on there–I had that as a “GameWatch” back in the day…I used to play that any time I could get away with it in class and on the lunch hour… then, I had a Q*bert watch the next year, and a Legend of Zelda watch after that. I also had one of those folded style “Mario Bros.” games with Mario and Luigi working at a pie factor if I recall…oh the memories really came back now… my cousin had a Donkey Kong Jr. (folded “pocket” style) and I was jealous of that…I wanted to just steal it from him. Another cousin had a Pac-man game-watch. Later, I had a pinball lcd game, a Double Dragon II, one of my best friends had a TMNT, the list goes on.

See, the younger generations of gamers don’t realize how fortunate they happen to be… THIS^ was your “portable gaming” options wayyy back in the day. The funny thing is that it was awesome at the time, simply because there wasn’t anything better invented yet.

*My little foray into PC gaming recently—today I spent the whole lunch hour on Kingdoms of Amalur on my laptop, which (perhaps surprisingly? Maybe not, the graphics are nice in terms of previous-gen stuff, imo…it’s not something that requires a powerhouse of a system) runs that shit perfectly. Anyway, I really hate this never got to be a continuing franchise. It is some of the greatest combat I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with in an rpg. This is how it should always be. REAL time, folks. Combos. It is nothing short of tragic that this game will likely be forgotten while something like Fable continues to exist. (and continues to disappoint.)

Also, I finally got the Steam version of Castle Crashers… even though I’ve played the hell out of it on 360, it was only $1.49 a few days ago on that Summer sale. A cool little game like that for about the same price as snacks or a drink from the vending machine at work? Hell yeah.

*X1–I’m at the point of having to uninstall stuff just to make space…once again—Forced Installs this generation = bull SHIT.

Yo Million lets play Castle Crashers sometime my steam username is zoolanderbeast if you don’t have me already.

I remember back when Castle Crashers was new and everyone was gaming on 360 back in like 08 it was all the rage, game was so addictive and all the different characters were fun even though we all knew the red knight was the most OP due to spammable lightning lol. CC was definitely one of the GOAT co-op games definitely a highlight of my gaming life, it was one of those rare times where everyone regardless of taste was on the same page dudebros to Otakus and everything in between loved CC.

I really really Hope Mother Russia Bleeds lives up to it’s potential as the Streets of Rage evolution, we definitely need to get an SRK PC group going for that game day 1…yes OZ SRK’s resident cheap ass gamer who waits until games are on sale and never buys games at full price may be willing to buy MRB day 1 provided others in here are as well.

I don’t really like beat-em ups, but playing 4-player co-op on Castle Crashers with my friends last weekend is the most fun I’ve had in a while. Especially at the end of a level when you fight over the Princess. XD

Blue Knight is best knight.

Hooked up my 360 last night. Just as loud as I remember. Gonna boot up Killer Is Dead, tonight, but after taking on the challenges in Vanquish. This game is still beautiful.

I’m so salty that I spoiled Arkham Knight for myself…now I’m gonna go on random internet forums and ruin everyone’s fun!

Buuut, I guess I’ll still buy it anyways. The batman games are fun.

I can’t believe how bad this game looks now

the developers be like…

Yeah…but The Division still gave us this.

#thisbitch

I was gonna pre order For Honour but I’m too worried that shit is gonna look like this when it lands

Working at Activision for 2 years taught me that if they need to meet a deadline, they’ll do it whether a bug gets fixed or not. ESPECIALLY the big titles. Hence day one patches. American companies are really terrible when it comes to this unlike say Japanese devs and publishers. Nintendo usually ships games nearly bug free…it’s just they choose to delay.

I still need that game.

Division.

the way Ghost Recon Wildlands was shown was as if they said “fuck we fucked up The division, lets spread the assets and give them two games… for the price of two of course”
