Good. More time = More polish, exact same thing happened with Arkham City to the point that the game could be completed from start to finish over a year before it went gold, giving them time to iron out bugs and refine mechanics.
These problems come up because of how timing is programed to work with consoles more often then not. They have the game speed and timing tied to the fps so it plays the game out a little bit faster when you bump the fps up. This comes up because FROM has very little experience with PC coding, they are used to working with stable hardware with locked specs, and is the kind of thing that can be fixed via a patch, or just having a better knowledge base for their next game. It’s akin to a glitch. It’s unintended and can be remedied.
it looks nice and shiny, but it doesn’t have that feel. for certain games the 30fps feel of the whole experience is better, 60fps here almost looks toy like. I guess you could just get the pc version though, no arguments there, but there are good and bad points to both frame rates
a lot of things end up moving unnaturally. things in a distance from us look slower in real life (physics), in 60fps on a screen everything is unnaturally fast looking. it looks cool but are we really processing it how we normally process things?
it looks fantastic, but you have less appreciation for everything in your view because of the amount of information you end up scrolling through.
people have been saying “games haven’t changed from last gen, they look better but nothing new” if the game had static camera views those visuals would be appreciated more or if you were inside of there there would be better appreciation.
Actually at a distance enemies in DSII still move at 30fps. When they get closer they bump up to 60 so stuff at a distance in DSII is indeed slower then when it closer to you.
I don’t get your point on the second video, you’re perfectly capable of stopping and taking as much time as you want to view the area. Fps speed isn’t going to force you to not stop and smell the roses, you’re grasping at straws in order to make a point that doesn’t exist.
Also I took in the view space in that video just fine, if anything it made me wish i was in control so i could look around some more, those water falls look fantastic. The whole video looks great, really smooth, nice and silky, great detail on everything, nothing choppy going on, no screen tearing which is great, he’s using a mouse and his look speed is pretty high yet the whole image stays stable. Looks great.
You said they couldn’t take in all the information cuz it’s 60FPS then linked a video that is nothing but free look. There’s no other gameplay in there so it doesn’t demonstrate whatever the hell you’re trying to explain. If your problem is game play (Cuz I guess free look isn’t gameplay) then you need to find a video that provides an actual example of what you are talking about. Don’t link to a video that is nothing but free look as an example for something that doesn’t involve free look. How does that even make any fucking sense?
Look dude tons of games back on the PS2 and original Xbox, the Gamecube an shit, they ran at 60fps and no one had a problem ingesting all that crazy information. I dunno what the hell you’re trying to argue here, we’ve had tons and tons of games that run at 60fps and every ones been able to view them and take in all the information they present just fine. You’re the first person I;ve ever seen say “I can’t keep up, it’s all too much too fast!”
Also yea the enemies in DSII moving at a lower frame rate while in the distance is a bit weird looking, but ultimately not that big a deal.
Do you not realize it? When we explore there is less structure to our experiences when we aim to reconstruct it. Can you not see this? Memorization is mangled during our experiences within those contexts. This is what I’m trying to say
When they can hold more detail that will be a step towards balancing out the stream of thought. The detail currently available has a toyish feel to it, once it reaches levels like crisis and the witcher 3 that’s when it’ll look a lot better
@crotchpuncha, you made the same mistake that i did with seninSRK and took the bait :shake:
I really hope that those 2 are just trolling because otherwise i hope both are sterile and don’t reproduce.
On another subject
GGXrd will have cross play between ps3 and ps4
Ps4 will run at 1080p
Ps3 will run at 720p
This sounds like obsession with realism. I care less for this then i do for a tight responsive gameplay so this really comes down to a difference in preferences about what we want from our games. You want an immersive world. I want a well made game.
