i swear, the people in this thread make reality tv seem sane and reasonable.
edit: sorry for double post, don’t know where that falls here. maybe its on the level of racism. posting kotaku seems to be on the level of kicking peoples dogs.
Read that first post. Everything you need to know is in the links there.
I don’t believe it is “unreasonable” to ask for transparency and honesty in journalism, be it for games, politics, or anything else. To think otherwise is asking to have your voice silenced and your views marginalized, much like your “heroes” over at Kotaku and friends are trying to do.
This goes for you, and anyone else too lazy to inform themselves about #GamerGate- If you are too lazy/stupid/apathetic to do something as simple as reading and educating yourself on a subject, then please refrain from speaking as if you know what you’re talking about.
Your victim ploys and hiding behind words like “racism” and other ad-hominems have no power here. This is SRKGD, where we don’t tolerate the kind of “everyone look at me, I’m a special snowflake deserving of attention and respect” attitude that permeates everywhere else.
You see, people here have earned a begrudging respect for one another here… We may not always see eye to eye on everything, but we do all agree that respect in anything in life is to be earned, not given. You want people to take you seriously, stop being a petulant child and pouting everytime someone tells you you’re wrong… Take the L, go get better and come back when you can hang; that is the only law here.
Sorry for getting off on a tangent, but I’m tired of bitch niggas getting mad at being called bitch niggas instead of simply stopping the bitch nigga behavior.
I now return you to you regularly scheduled FFXV fan-wanking… and yeah, I’ll be on dat Bayo 2 co-op too once I get my sea legs back.
The thing is, places like Kotaku don’t even report news, they steal their news from Twitter feeds and other places, then re-post it, usually adding an inflammatory click-bait headline or other such schlock to gain hits.
I have better luck getting my gaming news right here on SRK (or even EventScrubs) than I do anywhere else, because at least SRK peeps aren’t trying to spin an agenda…
genmatsu no good. running with a single source for smash bros leaks that ended up being semi wrong but mostly true. obviously a journalism no-no under the laws of absolutes.
With all this talk about not linking certain sites, then what sites are supposedly allowed?
As far as I’m concerned, every site has its share of crap going-on behind the scenes. No one is clean, and trying to shame anybody for posting shit from wherever it originated is somewhat petty.
Just tell me when there’s some substantially biased reviews or opinion pieces from certain journalists, but I’m not gonna shit-on/ignore a whole site just because a handful of people don’t like it.
But I’ll tell you guys what I will do: I will post news without any source whatsoever if that source is supposedly offensive, no bitching and whining will be necessary, and you can judge it purely on the content without needing to blatantly object to anything.
So in response to Big Dewey’s post, could we just say to not give clicks to the sites that have people that are part of the ganergate thing going on right now?
