Your friend is delusional, I use the DOA stick to play SFAC all the time. The left and right trigger are mapped to the black and white buttons, respectively. So just configure it keeping that in mind.

VF 5 isn’t coming out for the 360 until Halloween.
I don’t really expect the stick to be released before then. Gamestop has already pushed back the release date twice, so try not to get your hopes up.
(Though it might be released two weeks before Halloween, since Hori’s Fighting Stick 3 was released two weeks before the PS3 version of VF 5.)
