Side tourney to be hosted on Saturday June 6th, at Game Over. (That’s two saturdays from now for those of you who dont have calenders)

Now, the reason i’m doing this so “early” is to A.)start the hype train B.) ask Big G if I can use one of his tv’s for an hour until the sf4 tourney starts, and C.)let all you peeps out there who REALLY WANT TO ENTER show up by 3pm. This also lets you practice your excuse for calling in sick, ask the day off, ditch your girlfriends, etc.
Having everyone show up by 3pm lets us finish the tourney really fast so you guys who are amazing at fighting games can concentrate on sf4 and it lets us take advantage of having two tvs for an hour.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE an official turbo tourney, but i don’t think its what the community/GameOver wants (wish it was a tad more popular with the peeps who consistently do well in the sf4 tourneys)
I want to ban akuma for two reasons
1.)No one in Vegas is THAT good with akuma. Yeah, Ruin got 2nd with Akuma spamming air fireball into cross up after knockdown and because he can do combos reliably. I think we (vegas) just need to step up our game and learn how to REVERSAL to stop Ruin’s cross up shenanigans. I mean, ruin doesn’t even play this game ever! And he ran a train on our bracket, what does that show? Every other akuma at the tournament isn’t worth mentioning. It’ll make us way better players in the long run if we learn how to stop akuma shenanigans, trust me.
2.)It’ll bring more peeps to the tourney GETGETGET HYPEHYPEHYPE

ruin winning with Akuma is not impressive for several reasons:
- Felix and Kalama were not there
- He didn’t play me in tourney cuz I got peaced out way earlier than I expected. My own fault, I know, but still…
- Sorry but I’m gonna be honest here: for the most part Vegas is not good at OG Street Fighter.
- He would have placed without Akuma and in regular ST as well cuz it’s ruin and you’re all mindfucked by this guy. He will place in any game because he’s a better overall player than just about everyone in town and almost everyone fucks up in front of him.
This still doesn’t mean we need to prepare for a retarded matchup against a retarded character that will not come up in any other situation besides this tournament. It’s a stupid move to allow it, I’ve said it from the beginning and I was right. This is a brain-dead character that people who don’t play the game can win with - case in point. Why is it every time we had ST going in the candy cab at the Cowboy’s place, EVERYONE gets worked by me/Kalama/Felix, regardless of character choice? We shit on everyone’s mediocre O. Sagat back then, but this won’t work now cuz Akuma is another level of stupid. If Akuma isn’t banned, ruin will win this time. I think I might put money on it if people don’t believe me.
This is not ‘hype’ - this is dumb and you know it. HD Remix is crappy and gimmicky enough as-is IMO, no reason to dumb it down further.
*edit: lol @ he sucks for losing to Guile. First off, Guile is FAR better in HD Remix than in ST and then you have two people that play each other all the time in the finals, playing a game that neither of them are serious in. Of course it’s a toss-up. Please…

still not sure what guile, akuma, and this guy ruin have to do with using Gill for 3s.
If for some reason people still like the akuma tournament, then we know that vegas doesn’t want to play SFHD and we move on. If not, there will be 3 people in the akuma tourney leaving more than enough time to immediately run a SFHD tourney with akuma banned.
People wanted ST tournaments with akuma allowed too, everyone has to learn the hard way =(.
P.S. The problem is not necessarily the air fireball trap, you are right in that you can escape it, you are wrong in that it just leads you into his other problems that you cannot escape, such as air fireball into RD, glitchy red fb, then we get into the hitboxes. I’m not sure you can make a decision on akuma without knowing how he works.

And all ruin had to do against Peter’s guile was get any any sort of life lead and start turtling with air fireballs for the rest of the match. I don’t know Guile is FAR better in this game when the only upgrade he got was a RH flashkick that goes forward farther and easier super motions, all his trouble match-ups are still the same.
