Oh god did I want alex in this game. Alex/Vega would have been perfect as I main both for years and he would have fit perfectly in this game instead of boring abel ugh. I think vega would work very with a grappling character but I hate the ones in except king but he’s to boring imo.
Vega tech getting thought up this early makes me excited for the return of top tier claw, but it also worries me for patch nerfs. I hope the rumors of many more characters being is true because I’m already paying for cody likely so it’d be nice if alex was brought back.
At least I have juri to pair with vega for nice versatile evil team.
yea i main alex as well on 3s, and i like the idea of vega+grappler too, that’s why i was going for king (i don’t like the current grapplers)… capcom give us ALEX
@Vegaman- Thanks for the info. I know you said CH doesn’t hit crouchers but does that include from all ranges including up close? Also from what I gathered CH should be able to connect into ST if you do a cr mp into ST after the CH. Someone else showed that you could do a cr mk x cr mp x EX FBA after CH, so CH should lead to more damaging combos now.
If you can chain into CH it’s a done deal because will be able connect two of his flip kicks( sorry don’t know the name)in one combo
I never did CH at point blank so iono about that.
CH to ST works, but the timing is a bit more strict because of the increased charge time
CH to cMPxx ST works or CH to cMP then ST also works. You can also do cMP to ST cMP to ST for a 6 hit combo. Think of CH as a mini launcher. you can connect damn near anything after it except ultra (which may actually still be possible but pretty damn hard or situational)
New footage of SxTK vega just came out …JHK,cstHP,cmp, Hk is possible meterless, chargeless decent damage an it looks like it could work on every charachter…Vega is looking seriusly powerful in this game…

I don’t know the notation for his rolling attack but he could of cancel the :hk: into ex rolling attack and continue the loop

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about that. s.HK gives him some forward momentum, right? If that stays when cancelled (and if you CAN cancel it), you might be close enough for the first hit of EX RCF to connect.
Also, is it possible that you might be able to loop c.LP, c.MK, s.HP a few times?
Ugh, the more I see the more i’m waiting the inevitable patch nerfs. I know it’s coming once the game is out I hope i’m so wrong cause I want a powerful vega but this seriously worrying me especially because capcom has already said to be looking to patch gems and shit if they get real complains.
I’m loving what I see everytime I enter this thread too but i’m keeping a watchful eye on this hoping for the best. Still looking to use Vega/Juri even if they suck honestly.
I don’t see why not, I’m pretty sure vega can’t cancel his :hp: in ssf4 but he does here. Also Capcom said you can cancel chains into ex moves
He can cancel the first hit of close s.HP in SFIV. Cancels in this game still confuses me. Also, cancelablility is not the only hindrance, the 2nd issue is if you’re close enough for the first hit of EX Roll to hit/get cl.s.HP instead of the far version.
Oh really lol well ryu could cancel his sweep into a fireball so who knows, maybe all normals can cancel into specials. As for combobility from afar it depends on the hit stun
I think you can only cancel sweep into launcher, but I might be mistaken.
Even if Vega can’t cancel the last hit of that combo into EX roll, he can certainly cancel it into a launcher for another character’s full juggle.
Well, s.HP was the only move you could cancel into EX roll in SFIV iirc, and that wouldn’t combo if the first hit didn’t connect, again, iirc. I’m assuming it’s the same deal with all heavies in this game.

I wonder if Vega still does more damage without the mask and if so i like to see what Vega can do without the mask AND with the damage increase gem activated…
I hope vega doesnt become top, I dont want a flock of uncouth behemoths joining us…
