It looks like for the RCf all he does is walk forward. And for the EX FBA you see him throw a cr. lp first. Maybe those are the tricks to it?
Anyone else wonder why Gen’s alt. costume has a mask that doesn’t come off? I guess to make Vega more unique than him?
It seems like they gave Gen thing’s Vega shoulda had. Easily comboable hp Roll, mask that doesn’t come off, his wall dive recovers instantly and has some crazy priority and the ex has invincibility when going to the wall. Then they say the whole “character design” argument. -_-
And who else likes slashing the wing off of the Airport stage with a j. mp? It’s the only stage you can interact with and the up angle of Vega’s claw seems like this was the only actual purpose for it lol. I been picking this stage for months just so I can slash the wing off, but I never see anyone else deliberately pick this stage or even bother to knock the wing off online.
5 milliseconds is not a lot of lag. 5 milliseconds is 5/1000ths of a second, not half a second. SF4 is displayed at 60fps but the framebuffer is only updated every other frame at 30fps. So a 1 frame link is really just 1/30th of a second or or 33 milliseconds. At 60fps every frame is 16 milliseconds so 5 milliseconds is 1/3 of that. Logically anything under 16 milliseconds shouldn’t be noticed but technically response times are not a true representation of how fast the lcd can draw the frame so you want a few extra milliseconds in there to make up for tv filtering. Also there is no such thing as a lag less LCD, its a term made up by manufacturers to push TVs to gamers.
Other things to note when buying a tv or configuring a tv for gaming. If the tv has a gaming mode then great use it, this just turns of any filtering the display uses. If not just turn them off manually.
tl;dr 5ms is not slow, anything under 12ms is IMPOSSIBLE to notice.
why does vega have a command that removes his mask? it costs half your super to do.
is it only there to punish button mashers? or did they just give vega an expansive taunt?
can vega even use this? with the mask and claw on its already an uphill battle.

really? losing your mask gives you extra damage? how much extra? is it even worth it?
i already have enough trouble chasing my claw and mask around all the time. it seems like the claw falls off faster and more often then in supert

You inflict 10% more damange, but you take on 25% more yourself. Absolutely not worth it. But, don’t let chasing down your mask or claw be the #1 priority. You do it only when you get a chance to.
Hi, long Honda and Bison user here that wants to try out Vega. I just finished all of Vega’s hard mode challenges, and I like the feel of the character. Looks like poking is a big part of his game, which is something I like. Just wanted to ask, whats the best way in starting out with Vega? Does he have a BNB that I should work on? Thanks!

If its not coming out, u need to do it slower, if its coming out but its missing you need to do it faster. Did u try linking far lk, far lk by itself? I practiced lk,lk, cr mp until I got it about 50% of the time, then I did the rest of the combo.

Try to do it piece by piece. I did it by mashing out all the links, but it is easier to do if you learn the the proper timing.
And Vega’s combos are in the combo thread. The basic ones that are most used and most effective are:
-cr.lp, cr.lk xx lp rcf
-cr.mk, cr.lp/mp xx EX Izuna drop
-cr.lp,cr.lp,cr.lp, cr.mp xx EX Izuna
-cr.mk,cr.lp xx ST
-And it’s not his bnb but u wana make sure you can learn his options from a df.hk. The df.hk, ST is going to be hard at first, you need to charge as soon as you input the df.HK. You then release it as they get close to the floor (similar to the timing of the second ST in Vegas 2nd hard trial). You can also follow up with a slide, ex izuna or some pokes into a grab or another df.HK
-You also want to make sure you can do 2 ST in a row. This is helpful for when the MK or HK version only hit once, you can do another one and it will hit. You can also do an EX ST after the lk ST or if the MK or HK versions only hit once as well. It’s also good to build a little meter if you knocked them down with a ST and are waiting for them to get up.

Combos after a cr.lk but I think the opponent has to stand.
Also combos after a df.rh, but the frame window is pretty small, especially against small characters.

Yeah cr. lp and cr. lk can combo into lk ST.
And all of vegas normal attacks except for HK, cr.HK and cr.HP can combo into his EX FBA

By the way I just went through vega’s hard trials again and I have to say, I think vega has one of the easiest hard trial challenges in the game, would you guys agree with me on this? I noticed that Vega’s normals seem to recover really fast considering their range. Also what exactly does taking the claws off do, other than decreasing vegas range?
