Vega is the best at that
try ryu or sagat lol…god knows thers not enuf of em online  but i second bison…try him
Rog i guess, but Fuerte could be an option too.
Have you thought aboutjust toughing it out with the claw though?
Rog? No. Ryu, and Sagat I am guessing are not options. So there is a character that is 5 - 5 with ryu and sagat and that is Dhalsim .
Ryu and Sagat are your best bets, but if you want someone FUN, pick Akuma. He can outplay Sagat in fireball games, has a lot of awesome mixups, awesome specials taht combo so seamlessly; what’s not to like??
He’s my second.
I actually don’t play anybody ever other than Vega online or in real tournaments, but I can play pretty much anyone at a competitive level. Cept Gen and C. Viper and Fuerte. Vega seems at the next level down as far as “Difficulty to play” is concerned… though there are certain aspects of Vega’s play that make me think otherwise (lots and lots of 1 frame links. if you can always hit your full jab to strong combos, and knee to strong combos, or meterless cl. fierce to c. fierce combos, imagine how much more powerful Vega would be)
I might make Bison or Viper my 2nd, but Vega will always be my main
But it’s just nice to have a backup I guess.
jozhear, im gonna watch some of ur vids on utube
Edit: nice vega joz, i’d love to see you vs a good sagat, not just abel, but it was good. i like how u link medium kick to izuna drop
Is there a place where I can submit my replays, where other players (preferably good players) can offer helpful advice and tips on how to improve my play style?
Check the Ryu forums. There is something called “training group” or something, they have an IRC channel where ppl help you with your game. Most of them can record, too so check it out :'D
Ok,I’m not a very good Vega player, but i stumbled upon this problem,i’ve learnt the usefulness of Vegas df hk but i can’t seem to ever get an opportunity to get that move in only off of focuses and blocked moves,is there a time i should do this move, maybe a way to combo into it, or just a generally easier way to get that df hk into my game.
Oh and i second fuerte he works out pretty well for me!
its hard to land that move with good people. do it for punishing specials that leave the guy open, or as a AA but you have to have good reaction time and has to be spaced by you , still dont rely on that AA thing, its just good to know small things like that.
Thanks,i tried to use as an anti air in some player matches,i timed it right like only 25% of the time,so i guess ill just stick with punishing blocked or missed specials with it.
playing some crappy elf today…hes doing that habanero running thing all over the place on the opposite side of the screen…runs towards me…i EX FBA pretty much at point blank and it goes right through him…no effect…are ther some strange properties to elfs habanero dashing thingy move that i am not aware of?..has anyone else experienced this besides me?
it has invicible frames. Thats why it missed. If he was glowing while running then he has Super Armor, if he does tostada splash then you will miss, maybe its the Fajita Buster one of those two has invul frames or maybe both. Ask the Fuerte Q and A thread to clarify which one has invul frames.
hmmm…he just did the straight run…no follow up…just ran basicly right through me to the other side as i did the move
Elf’s EX run can absorb 2 hits.
Was he doing EX?
^ no just the normal run…and he dident absorb anything…it just went right through him…i was just gona chalk it up to being a glitch but you never know
how do i counter honda’s headbutt?
Block.
Then pick one of the following: c.hk, EX FBA, take a step s.hp, or s.mk
OR you can stuff it with jump back fierce
I like to short backslash (kkk) and punish with the df. hk scarlet terror. Don’t depend on this too much, though because a good player will start baiting you for it.
thanks.
another question,
what do i do vs a pro ryu who rushes hard, is constantly in your face delivering a barrage of weak-medium punches, and then links them into a combo whenever one connects. gah.
