Vega Q&A: Ask simple questions here!

i land it next to the wall, and most of the time its after a stun. should have said that before, sorry. And you should practice to hit blanka out of it. it means one less shenanigin to worry about it. and two i hit it about 90%, and smack zangief out of that move, its just a matter about learning. once you know the spacing it doesnt seem that dangerous, and it means more damage.

help please on Light Scarlet Terror to EX Scarlet Terror. I have searched the forum and have not found the answer. Any help would be much appreciated on the timings and input. It is from Trial 4 Move #2.
Thanks

This has nothing to do with why sakura does good damage, and when you master her combos, she is not a monster. She is still pretty shitty.

I still don’t see why you would use the double hit. Izuna Drop will do more damage, and this whole adds more mix up element doesn’t exist. Any wake up game you could do to them after a quickstand you could do to them normally, you just get more time to set it up. Fake rush down? Izuna drop, dash up to their body, stick out a jab or two, block at the last second.

Edit: btw, it’s good input for you tell us it beats electricity, but when has a good blanka ever spammed full screen electricity? Up ball on reaction will rape the shit out of any walldive.

Oh, this is fairly easy. Just start charging again as soon as you press forward for the first scarlet terror.
So charge downback, press forward + K, immediately charge downback again, and press forward+K again.
The actual timing is not really strict. Don’t wait for the first ST to end. A lot of people do that. Just do forward+K and then press downback again.

Good luck

its good to know, because not all blanka do up ball. what if they arent holding a charge and you wall dive they can just elec when they see the animation. Its these little things that give you an edge and can win the match. but thats my two cents

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does Vega have any use for EX cancels at all? Is there any situation in which you would EX cancel into something instead of using the meter for B&B or anything else?

The opportune time to ex cancel is during the RCF. If you learn the timing u can dash forward and continue attacking with cr. lp, or if they r blocking u can cancel, dash at them and go for the grab.

I know it’s good to know, but all blanka’s do upball. Secondly, the only time you’d wall dive against blanka (well technically you shouldn’t be at all) is if he’s not up in your face pressuring you, and if he isn’t that means he’s either turtling on the other side of the screen with a downback charge, or if he’s closing space on you, he’s probably blanka hopping, so he still has his down charge.

To the guy asking about ex cancels, there’s the 11 hit vega combo and its variations that require you to FADC the RCF, but I really don’t think it’s practical. Other than that, you’d only use it on say, a blocked RCF to avoid being punished, but it’s already “kind of” hard to punish as it is, so I guess no, you don’t really have a use for a cancel.

That is what i said, Also i’d rather them be tapping buttons to try and quick stand because if its a guile,or other charge person, they’re prolly not charging a wakeup attack ;)(or dont have time to)

Also u want the match to be fast paced, if u r letting them take the time to get up, then they have more time to see the move coming. U can cross up their corpse as soon as u land form the ST.

Whatever floats ur boat tho, vega doesn’t dish out much damage at one time, so i’d rather do as much as i can in one sequence to at least try to intimidate the other person or get closer to stun.

EDIT: u cant say all blankas up ball as anti wall dive, what if they dont have a down charge? but yeah u dont want to be wall diving on him much unless ur so sick with it u can grab him out of his rolls/balls (i duno if its possible but whatevs)

I figured out an effortless way to pull off vega’s ultra using a keyboard, PM me if you’d like to know how too.

Just to let ya know, you spelled E Honda wrong in the first post, and the first M Bison video is removed from youtube.

I just switched from pad to stick, and I’m doing absolutely horrible with Vega now. But! his kara throw is 10 times easier!!!

Anyone here like to use option select hop with Vega? It seems pretty decent against cross up mindgames.

I’m in the same boat as you Undiscovery, stick makes execution for certain moves easier, but I can barely block jumpins/crossups and still have problems getting my stick to differentiate between ST and FBA.

Oh well.

how do you do it guys? I cant play for shit on stick. I cant focus, grab, and most importantly i cant kara, that shit seems to hard. Any pointers.

Play Tekken to get accustomed to a stick (I think it worked for me because Tekken revolves around rythmical button presses).

This probably will not work for you though.

practice practice practice…when you get it the game is WAY funner i found…its how the game was meant to be played and i understand that now

What do you mean by option select hop? I don’t think I’ve seen any mention of it before.

Jab + hop. If your opponent tries to throw you, you either hop away or get a throw tech. If the opponent doesn’t throw, you always get a hop.

You can do this option select with other specials too, but it’s not “safe” like doing it with Vega’s hop.
