he doesnt need his claw for the ultra. i done it b4 and land it with out the claw
This claw seems to really be on top of things, plus he’s wearing the snazzy alt: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=88nvr_gNCdQ
Love the use of df.hk to cross up on wake up.
I saw a Claw combo of-
Focus Attack–>F+MK/HK (lunge kick)–>Slide kick
the lunge kick launched the opponent and the slide kick hit them as they fall; is this combo possible on all characters?
BTW can someone link to some good Claw matches? I recall watching a good Claw vs. Ryu match where the Ryu player did his Ultra TWICE but it never hit Claw.
After df.hk I usually juggle with a simple cr.mp if I have no meter because I’m lazy, so I’ll test out the slide when I have access to the game again. Dhalsim is a pretty skinny guy though so I’d imagine it’d work on all chars.
I guess he could have also done a flipkick though, or as Sev said ‘‘if you feel like burning meter for minimal damage on larger characters, LK flipkick followed by EX.’’
edit: note to self, remember to mix up cr.mk, linked to cr.mp, ex walldive and throw on cross up. I’m sure once you you’ve trained them to block the other way with df.hk on wakeup you could then just delay it a bit and do it straight into their face for a free combo.
So correct me if I’m wrong - His alt is just a Puffy Shirt, Boots and and Ascot?
Coulda been worse.
ok so i played a bunch over the weekend and i am going to use Claw as my main. Here are some things i got out of playing.
ex flying claw stab gets over hadou kens for free.
cr. fp sucks as anti air.
jumping fp is still good.
combo:
jumping fp, cr forward, cr strong combos.
question:
how do you do the little side kick hop that claw does. it was f, fk in cvs. I couldn’t get it to come out.
also can you even combo his ultra or is it totally worthless to even go for it?
-RAM
I was playing it yesterday and his ultra doesnt seem to be able to combo.
I believe it’s only good a punish, it’s speed and input can make it hard.
is there any use to his df+foward? I thought it would be able to hit overhead, but it doesn’t.
I like the range on his izuna drop this time.
his flipkick seems kinda useless as it seemed to be beat each time I used it.
backflips are amazing as usual.
Pirate Vega!
Yarrr!
anyone know if the super or the ultra can be done with
db charge then df, ub… the command which works for super turbo
and anyone know how to do the super off the front wall
has any figured out what that EX move where he takes his mask of does? (f,d,df+PP)
it takes 50% super and only seems to make him take more damage.
ive tried that many times and it never worked so id say no on that.
I also want to know about this.
yes it does work. thats how i do my supers in pretty much every sf that has that command.
then i was wondering how supers can be done on the opposite wall with the shortcut of
db, df, ub…
i also see videos in which he connects 2 flip kicks… anyone know what strength are the kicks?
I’ve yet to see this combo not work on any of the cast. There’s also no timing required for the slide.
If you’re being lazy, you might as well reset with cr.HP instead.
As for flipkicks however, you have to start charging DB immediately after the lunge kick input, it also helps if you’re doing the lungekick from maximum range. The double flipkick after the lunge kick is entirely useless it seems, especially seeing as that the LK flipkick will only connect on Sagat and Gief, and an EX walldive does more damage anyways and is easier to pull off.
I haven’t found much use for it at all. I occasionally use it against low forward and sweep spamming shotos, but that’s about it. Flipkicks I think have to be used similar to the Flashkick now, you’re either going to have to hit them early, or prepare to trade. The EX still works fine as an anti air for me though.
I tried seeing if it improved damage, defense, anything, but at this point, I think it’s an EX taunt, something I thought would have been reserved for Dan.
There’s two situations I’ve found where you can connect two fipkicks. One is an EX after an LK. The other situation I found that works, is if only the second hit of an MK, HK, or EX flipkick hits (your opponent has to be relatively high in the air for this to happen), then you can follow with a regular flipkick.
does anyone know if this combo is possible.
short flip kick into ex walldive to juggle the enemy in the air again to grab?
That player makes me want to use Claw as my main. Claw can actually do damage in this game! Good stuff.
His alt reminds me of that puffy shirt episode of Seinfeld: “but I don’t want to be a pirate!”
gonna try out a few things the next time i play sf4 but first, a few questions
-
whats vega’s kara throw?
-
how do you combo into 2 flip kicks?
-
do you need to be point blank to combo into (ex) claw roll off c.lp, c.mp, c.mk?
-
is c.mp cancellable only from close range?
-
how flexible are his ex wall dive combos? does it work off a far range c.mk? how about on crouching opponents? how about off a far range c.mk when opponent is crouching?
-
Neutral Standing RH, make sure to have the stick in neutral. If you spend you a lot of time in DB, then try to walk a bit and kara throw, you’ll occasionally get an EX flipkick.
-
See my post above.
-
I haven’t been able to combo into EX claw roll from anything, as it has too much startup.
-
Cancellable everywhere from what I’ve seen, however if done from too far away, lp claw roll will not combo.
-
EX walldives whiff on most crouching characters at max range. Point blank, a c.MK to EX walldive will hit most everybody.
how do you people perform his Super or Ultra so easily?
i can’t seem to pull it off whenever i want most of the time is their a easier technique or way to do it? i know the command is Charge db, df, db, uf or ub 3 Kicks or Kick for Super…
can someone teach me a easy way to pull it off like the pros on youtube. i always have to use EX drill claw to punish the fireball spammers and i want to use Ultra instead ><…
