Did these names “Scarlet Terror”, “Rolling Crystal Flash” come out of nowhere or have they always been there?
Always been there.
does anyone else go for a Focus attack after scarlet terror? to anticiapte the safe fall? surprised that it works. even on some of my srk peeps. even if they dont safe fall you’re still safe whether you dash cancel or recover from the FA
Hi, fellas. Last night on PSN I had a horrible night as Vega. While I was able to do the motion for the Super and the Ultra successfully more than half the time, he kept MISSING the opponent!!! Was I doing something wrong or does this just happen? I mean, Ken was RIGHT THERE!!! and Vega just glided on by like it was a lazy Sunday afternoon drive!!:crybaby:
For the Super, the guy was across the screen and just blocking–does that make it miss??? This is the first time for me with the missing it. I don’t know what I am doing wrong.:xeye:
Last night I learned that it doesn’t beat his Ultra.:crybaby: Don’t know what I was thinking. I had missed the Ultra that would have given me the match and I had an EX. I thought since Sagat had a sliver he might Poodoo or Ultra me and the roll being EX’d would either get him or chip him for the win and stop the Ultra. Nope.
I also learned that Sagat’s Ultra travels very far–I thought I would wall dive and stay on my far side of the screen to get him to use the Ultra and miss. Well, that halfway worked. He did Ultra as he thought I would fly over to him but to both our surprise the Ultra someone grabbed me from the other side.
So now I am back to a painfully reserved game against Sagat. :xeye:
Welcome to the world of Vega.
But yeah, I feel ya, even if I anticipate a fireball or do it as the opp is doing something with long recovery, for it, it goes right over theri heads about 50% of the time, it’s ridiculous.
Not sure what went wrong with the super o.O
Try using more EXs =P
hmm
i found out if i do RCF -> super some shorter characters like honda will FA and avoid gettin grabbed. so i think doing the 4 hit claw attack will be a good substitute
Has anybody other than myself had their S.HK cancel into the Super?
It’s happened to me more than a couple times now, rather than getting the standard two hits from the S.HK, he goes to the wall and does his Super. It’s only happened to me on accident, I’ve never actually sat down and tried to do it, can’t really imagine it being useful for anything anyways… Just curious if this has happened to anyone else though.
if that indeed works c.mk->st.HK -> super might prove useful
Hey guys, I have some questions about the claw and mask.
When does the claw / mask drop? Does it drop randomly or is there a number of hits you may take before it actually drops?
I heard mask and claw can also drop if several attacks are blocked, is that correct?
I thought it was just the sum of times you’ve been hit.
Yeah, they fall off after you take a certain amount of damage I believe. Not sure the exact amount, but I imagine it would be in the frame data thread, maybe check that out Greenguy.
I have a question one of Vega’s moves.
I notice Bebop, Tatsu, Nise Pachi, and Makoto and everyone always uses the Cr. Light Kick as opposed to the Cr. Light Punch.
Example: Cr. Lk > Grab. or Cr.Lk > EX FBA.
I checked frame data because I thought maybe Cr. Lk comes out faster, but it seems both comes out the same speed and Vega’s Jab has more frame advantage on block and hit.
His jab has too much range though, so I thought maybe that’s probably why they don’t use the Cr.Lp.
Wow. Anybody got any tips on overcoming a losing streak? I don’t know what happened over night, but all the sudden I’ve been scrubbing it up and I can’t seem to shake it. Seriously frustrating.
cr.lk hits low, thats all.
your playing with vega think like vega
remember the scene in american psycho where christian bale says " dont just stare at it, eat it ", if you have a wife or gf be sure to let her know you are the beautiful one, when you do that you cant lose, ideally during a match you want to be as vain as possible
seriosly though just play some player matches to find your rythm
LOL thanks for the tip J, I’ll be sure to put that one to good use. Seriously though I’m just going to take a break and go back to it later, hopefully that’ll do the trick for me.
I was thinking about that too, I guess I’m overthinking it.
Don’t worry I’ve been having the same problem all day today. I lost a crapload of BP to people who I’m fairly certain I’d be smart enough to beat on a good day.
Amazingly, I can get Vega’s Super to come out first try without any difficulty at all. However, when ever I try to use this move, I back flip (which is the probably the most convinent thing to do when missing the input or w/e). I mean, it can’t be that I am missing the input all the time because I get the same motion input on the first try, I just have to use triple. So does the back flip just win out over his Ultra sometimes or what? I mean, there is no way I can (and I’ve gotten fustrated so I’ve went into training mode) perform the Super 5 times in a row, yet can only get the Ultra once in like 20 tries (getting a back flip every other time).
Second, what decides on which side of the screen you jump off of to do the Ultra? I swear I’ve been in the exact same location (if not, barely in a different spot) with my opponent being in the exact same location (again, if not, only like one little tap to one way or the other) and I have gone off both walls. How can the set-up be the same, yet the Ultra comes off different walls?
It sounds completely scrubby saying this stuff but I am really confused about it. Usually there is a very simple reason why it does what it does and how to overcome it. I just can’t put my finger on either of these though.
