Well crouching won’t help much but he can try to dash out and eat a claw strike instead. He also has 1f where he can uppercut Claw out but … yeah …
Thank you very much. This will take a lot of time to get down
nice vid
Quick question… in place of the slide under the opponent after CH ST on the last one, is there enough time to do cross up EX FBA after an LP RCF under? I’m trying to pull it off but doesnt look like there’s enough time. But I want to make sure it’s not my exection before saying it’s not possible
I don’t think so. With average execution skills, you’re between +4 or +6 after a RCF cross-under. So the opponent would wake up before your EX Izuna startup, which is 9 frames.
According to my experience, and that frame advantage, best normals to follow-up the RCF cross-under would be clHP if you’re fast, or cMK otherwise.
There is a link to a tiny video where the differences between the RCF and cHK cross-under are explained (at the end from it), few post above…
woooo i got into the credits!
Of course. The RCF cross-under was your idea, wasn’t it ?
actually it wasnt. Credit goes to theonly_J for that. I used slide in Vanilla till i asked him why he does RCF and he said due to meter building. So i adopted it back then.
So, I herefore will officially refer you as Vegaman the Rolling Crystal Usurper*, from now on. ^^
In practice, I wouldn’t use the RCF that much over the cHK. The only advantage (except meter) is that it would cross at max range from the CH-ST, or that the timing is perfect for a clHP follow-up. That put appart, frame advantage is much lesser, it won’t work on everyone, is harder to pull, and makes Vega yell some « Eeyaah » so you’re opponent will know you’re up to something…
But that’s more a matter of personal choice, no option is really superior to the other here. =)
- have you ever heard about vehicle remote control units ? =D
If by vehicle remote control units you mean either:
-controlling an actual car using a remote control like an RC car
or
-having a car control itself
i plan on building these soon. Probably within a year or so.
otherwise… elaborate.
just frame wakeup cr.lk/cr.mk/cr.hk
just frame wake up backdash
they will most probably get you hit by claw instead of the air throw but then you tech the knockdown the next wall jump will not arrive ready on your first frame meaning you can try your luck with something more proactive you have losts of options but none that works very reliably it is all about how vega steers and what he expects you to do, so after than window of opportunity you could get grabbed again and back into the loop but you could get out too.
You could try reversal tiger shot(kick version)
I am pretty sure ultra one will get you out of the loop too and there is a fair chance you land it and wipe vega’s half health bar, it may come out the wrong way and then you will get izuna dropped again and back into the loop
I have no clue about Ultra II could work too.
The key in this match is pretty simple, abuse tiger knee and brutally bully vega in the corner then, you repeat a loop based on several cr.lk a cr.mk L.TK or M.TK which is an infinite pseudo blockstring, vega has very few ways out of it and every time he misses the just frame counters he gets knockdown in the corner and loses 25% of his health and you can restart the okizeme with cr.lk into the infinite pseudoblockstring, the only reversal he has is ultra II and if he does that your nearly meaty cr.lk input will be discarded you will block then you EX.TU or ultra or whatever you like into a knockdown and start over again. If the vega player doesn’t want to take risks you will slowly but surely chip him to death, and every 5 cycles of the TK loop you can throw to speed the killing process a little.
What am I at frame wise after blocked focus attack dash forward?
Cool, thanks.
Is there a list of characters that jump back FP works on?
Also, how do people practice their Crossup FBA timing?
To my knowledge, bjHP works on everyone as long as they are standing, and guaranteed if they are teching. The hard part is to time it soon enough to get the bjHP hit, but late enough not to get an HP SHC.
However, if crouching, it will only hit characters with large hitboxes (like Zangief, Sagat, T.Hawk, Abel, etc.). You can still hit small crouching characters by doing a foward jHP instead of backwards (and cross them up), but it’s risky, as they will recover before you. =)
With the training room. =D
Seriously, each setup has a different timing. For example, after a forward throw, you’ll get the best results by triggering the EX Izuna as soon as Vega crouches.
For some setups, you’ll have only a one frame window to cross-up, so even high level players would fail it sometimes in tournaments. =)
i have a question. im going to compete at east coast throwdown and i just wanna know what do you guys do before a tournament? what do you guys practice?
Before a tournament, here are a couple of things to do to get the most out of your game:
- Go play on one of the tourney setups before the tourney begins, and practice a BnB and one safe jump setup. If the system is different to your own (xbox or ps3), you can compensate for the lag. If there is monitor lag, you’ll be able to see it before the game.
- Bring something to eat and drink. Seriously, the amount of players I see walking in the middle of the pools hungry and dehydrated is always strange.
- Bring your own stick if possible.
- Have fun
I dunno how many tournies you’ve been to, but the thing most people do before a big one is kinda…freak themselves out. You’re playing a video game, for fun, so have fun.
In terms of specific things to practice, unless you have a matchup that you know you are facing (if you’re lucky enough to have pre tourney brackets), just go over your BnBs, setups and safe jumps. Good luck dude, let us know how you do.
thanks for the help. ill be sure to share my results with you guys.
hey guys, i got a good question. what setups do u you have for stand teching. i want counterhit sets for stand teching cause its gettin super annoying
cant counterhit a stand tech unless it’s an OST making a set up situational at best. First thought that comes to my mind though is if you know they are stand teching then i know 2 things you can do offensively:
-Walk back “tech” and abuse the grab range grabbing them
-ST
