I thought claw strike actualy beats air to air normals as long as you do it early enought…of course if you get baited into this you’re in for a big punishment…
it beats most…
if guile’s air throw is like super that’s one of the things it may not beat
You should see the way Yamasan deals with sonic boom spammer guiles…he uses fba to fly over the proyectiles…guile goes to the air to airgrab …gets blow up by the claw strike…guiles air grab got its range reduced in AE and start up increased…going to 2012 guiles air grab now has the same star up as in super but still has AE’s range…
Can far st lk, clp, cmp work on everyone or just characters with a far outward hitbox?
SHOULD work on everyone.
but i havnt tested it
Hi guys…these days i’ve been having a lot of problems with negative edge mk ST…I try to do cmk–>mp rcf…i get cmk–>negative edge mk ST…i try to practice in tranning room conterhit cmk–>U2…all i get is cmk–negative edge mk ST…i try to do cmk—>HK ST…all i get is cmk–>negative edge mk ST…how do you guys get around this issue?
if u have these issues either tap the button quicker (so its unpressed when u move the stick to forward) or hold the button down longer.
These are the only solutions for negative edge issues, since negative edge issues is all about the button release.
if tapping quiker does not work you can hold mk down… so c.mk>HK.ST would be c.mk (hold the button) forward and push hk button while holding the mk button in still. This way negative edge is not possible.
Specificly for the counterhit c.mk> ultra 2 there is another solution, Vega’s ultra 2 can be done by doing, db,df,db,df + kkk instead of db,f,b,f + kkk
U can avoid scarlet terror by never pressing forward.
Thanks Emersion…i’ll try holding mk button…i had done U2 with U1 motion by accident in the past…il work on U1 motion and practice the Ch mk–>U2 with it…do you have any advice in how to do Focus attack–>dash fordward–>cstHP–>EXRCF, mp, EX FBA?, I ve been improbing with charge saving for rcf combos i can even pull out neutral jump HP—>cstHP–>EXRCF, mp, EX FBA…but out of a dash fordward don’t seen to be enought time…althought i know for fact that it can be done cause i saw Makoto doing it in shadawloo shodown…
So what do vs Yang dive kick?
Other then this particular question I’m ok fighting him. Any and all read dive kick attempts I air throw the crap out of.
Flips are out of the question.
Far MP
so… cant anyone get more than 622 damage in ANY meter abiding combo? (not against Vega)
cause so far 3 meters no mask against a Sagat in training mode:
CH EX ST (stun) jHPxxEX RCF, cMPxxEX FBA gives 622
Edit: also not including counterhits and Ultras
thank you. thanks a lot
First of all, what you are doing is jacking up Sagat’s stun by hitting him and letting his health recover and not his stun. By doing that you are going to get a damage reading that is not possible in a real game. If you got Sagat’s stun up to 650 by cr.lk’s and did the combo without letting his health recover, you will see the combo will do at most 600 damage, not 622.
I’m going to compare my combos to your 600 instead of 622 since the way you got 622 isn’t possible in a real match.
Still, you are close to finding the most damaging non-ultra dizzy combo that is non-character-specific.
You do CH to EX.ST to start with 286 damage. Right off the bat I can tell you that a jump-in does more damage than a CH, so if you wanted to have 2 hits for damage scaling purposes, it is better to do j.HP EX.ST for 308 damage. This also stuns Sagat more, so you only need 11 cr.lk’s instead of 13 to set up the stun. I use cr.lk’s because they do very little damage, and the less damage the better because once Sagat hits 50% health, all hits are scaled down another 5%.
I tried all the combos I could think of and j.HP EX.ST seems like the most efficient opener into a dizzy combo of this type due to it only being 2 scaled hits for a wopping 308. With this change, the combo does 625 damage instead of 600.
I found a better one though, using my favorite dummy, T-Hawk.
cr.LK x 13 (sets up 650 stun vs T.Hawk, he needs 100 more than Sagat) (264 non-combo damage with mask off)
j.HP EX.ST (dizzy)
j.HP st.cl.MK MP.RCF FADC cr.LP cr.MP LK.ST EX.ST
uses 4 meter, mask off, no ultra, no counterhit, no stun cheating
631 damage
If you want to cheat with the starting stun but not with meter, you can get a 796-damage dizzy combo vs a certain character (not following other rules, so turn counterhit on, etc, go all out). Can you figure it out?
i don’t expect these numbers but it’s better to test at full health because it’s easier to set it up without the health scaling taking or not taking effect.
See I got curious to see if i was using the most efficient meter management on this. With a common bnb ending up in a stun, should I go for a focus into a 2nd CH EX ST or was there a better option? Then going off that and seeing how much damage it did I wondered if there was even a more damaging option for him. That’s why I asked. I dont care if the reading is realistic or not because regardless of scaling the most damaging option will still be the most damaging option.
I never considered doing EX ST off a jHP/HK (same damage and stun).
and I assume 796 on Vega without his mask on lol.
ok so if you suspect stun soon jHP/HK EX ST then do the standard EX RCF combo
I wonder what his best option is if you land a stun off a jHP by itself.
(goes into the hyperbolic time chamber)
Edit: looks like the EX RCF combo is always the best choice in terms of damage. but If you’ve either focused or used more than 3 moves then it’s just not worth the meter and you probably should go with a meterless combo or focus throw… possibly a reset… of which the only reset I like is in the corner with CH into njHK(instant)
How do you enjoy christmas?
By being beautiful.
Merry Christmas fellas.
What’s the deal with ex st proyectile invul frames…I’ve recently seem a vega player blowing up a guile using ex st on wake to go throu a slow sonic boom (and catch guile while he was jumping in winning the match)…I’ve been trying in traning room and the timming to go throu fireballs is really weird…to early you get counterhit…to late you get air reset…has anyone else looked into this?..
i never had a problem with getting counterhit for doing it too early…
basically people who like to do cMKxx Fireball You’ll be fine with reversal timing. there’s only like 4-5 i-frames on the move though so if you’re going to just naked go thru it then you’ll need to wait until JUST before it hits you. Practice in training room doing EX ST to get close to guile walking back doing sonic booms. That’s how i learned it in vanilla
Thanks Vegaman…I’ll take that to the trainning room…HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND ALL PEOPLE ON THE VEGA FORUMS…hopefully there are great things in store for “el ninja espanhol”…
Quick question: What does POM mean or stand for?
I see the term being used in some of vega’s strategy threads
Piece of Mercury
It’s Vega’s overhead attack. You might also see it written as df.MK (down-forward medium kick).
