"What that means though is that it is possible to do cr mk into cr mp into Ex FBA w/o previous charge if you input the Ex FBA after the cr mp hits. "
Is this the post you are referring to? I still don’t understand how this would connect. Could you explain a little further in depth, because I am 100% with you that this will change his footies.
Thanks
Basically you input the up and KK to do the EX FBA AFTER the cr MP HITS. Not just after you input cr mp, but AFTER the cr mp actually HITS.
Its the same technique to do a jump attack into a normal attack into RCF with only one attack.
:db:~:mk: to :df:+:mp: to :db: to ex fba
the df’s and db’s help with timing. my first time trying it today as i literally just figured it out a few minutes ago. so far it has worked most of the time for me.
note: immediately hit mk after hitting db as though you were plinking it. this’ll give just enough charge time for ex fba
he is probably strating a charge before doing cr.mk, first off, if he wasn’t at all there would be around 50% chance he gets a st.mk instead. It is always safer to input the direction at least one frame before the punch/kick.
lots of stuff happens that is not visible on a youtube video, you’d need a 60 fps encoded video to check that and even then :
the game stores input also for several frames before things can be seen on the screen, if you do QCB + K with ryu you get a tatsu and you never see ryu sitting during the motion, and you need at least 3 frames to do it.
Though he could still do the motion if he was a machine , it looks like makoto is walking forward on the youtube video, but in fact he is probably buffering a few frames of charge while he’s character slowly goes from standing into crouching stance and then crouching mk.
What he says because, if you don’t do that you get very few(or none) of the 10+2 impact freeze frames from cr.mp I listed above, so you get below 43 frames => the move becomes impossible if you rush it.
Easier way is to not rush your cr.mk, you want to rush the charge instead (and you won’t see it)
you also don’t wan’t to rush your UF + KKK motion after pressing mid.punch or the charge won’t be complete.
Can anyone discern why Arai was doing j.hp straight after landing ST’s in GodsGarden 2.5? It’s particularly prominent in the Ken video from 56 mins onwards.
It’s a mixup…puts you close to your opponent and it messes with their head too cuz of the shifting of the screen when you jump in.
You could either go for a throw when you land or do cosmic heel to catch their crouch tech.
Ok, thanks.
People seem to be interested in my ability to hit confirm multiple techniques into Ex FBA, though particularily the cr lp one which people find quite difficult to do. I have been asked by a fellow SRK member how I am able to do such things so I will say a few things about it to help those who want the help.
To practice the cr lp x cr lp x cr mp x EX FBA I do a couple of types of training.
a. I do the cr lp to cr lp link alot to make sure I got that link down.
b. Then I do the cr lp to cr mp link alot to make sure I got that one down.
c. Then I put the two together and practice the cr lp x cr lp x cr mp links.
d. Then I practice both b. and c. into EX FBA ender.
e. Then I do all the steps with a dummy on auto block.
I do everything in step one but with cr mk x cr mp x ex FBA AND with st lk x cr lp x cr mp x EX FBA. NOTE: With these two combos it is BEST to practice them when inputting the UF KK AFTER the cr mp hits, to make the st lk combo significantly more reliable AND to make the cr mk combo able to be done WITHOUT previous charge.
I saw Cat-K using cross-up fierce on a Rufus at Godsgarden 2.5 so I checked it out in training. It definitely works on Rufus, Hakan, T.Hawk and Zangief but I haven’t tried it on the whole cast. Is this old news?
Cross up fierce works on alot, if not all the characters depending on the angle you jump at…i never tested it out on every single character but it sure seems that way.
If that’s true then it is extremely difficult to pull off consistently, because I tried it on Abel countless times with no luck. It is reliable against the characters I mentioned, although T.Hawk is a little more difficult.
Yeah it’s really inconsistent. I think that’s why no one really talks about it or mention it.
But i guess if you have time you can try testing it out on everyone and create a list of what characters it works really well on. I’m sure it would be beneficial to know which characters it would work on reliably.
The best way i found out to land it more consistently is to do it after a walljump (not a walldive), the angle of the walljump helps alot.
It lands more often on bigger characters but can land on anyone iirc. Blaze is right, it’s after you’ve got your opponent in the corner and you backthrow them out of the corner. Then you immediately follow with a triangle jump into fierce. It’s one of Vega’s safejumps, and it doesn’t cross up every time because of the spacing of your opponent.
@ Jaiyiorck ix- Did you get my message?
yeah man. Seems pretty straight foward. All about putting the time in
What do you guys think is require to do well at tournament level with Vega? I’m deciding to be a tournament player with Vega, and I’m trying to get my game to that level. I do pretty well in offline casuals/tournaments, but thats not enough. I was playing at SVB this weekend, and Daigo absolutely destroyed me in pools, was not fun at all.
Bring me in please.
