I did. Lol.
Sorry I was testing frame traps the other night and should have specified if you’re doing it as a frame trap setup and the Karin is trying to reversal. You can be point blank on block and it whiffs right over you. Unfortunately there is no distance which you can register a hit and cause that move to whiff on wake up, but the good news is you can make it appear that way as a fake out if you aim your foot for her front foot. Bad news is if they don’t use that but use ex forward kicks instead you get hit. Good news is any button stuffs ex forward kicks on reversal wake up so chances are they don’t do that.
Good news is you can MT and cause her to whiff on wake up, bad news is if the karin does nothing you’re screwed, lol.
Hey guys any advice on the bison matchup? How do you reliably stop his headstomp, jump back mk works sometimes. Also what do you do about his pressure? How do you keep him out without eating a slide or scissors??
Neutral or fordward jump mp beats regular headstomp consistently…against ex headstomp you are probably better off blocking or getting out of the way…Bison can not keep his pressure forever…all of the versions of scissors except ex i think are negative on block you should be able to do clp>lp ase to gain some space…the psicho explosion (i think that is the name of the special where he kinda summons blue fire around him) is punishable (except ex version) you should at least get in a clawed cmp or standing bare handed mp (i think…haven’t tried)…just don’t press buttons once you start blocking cause he frametraps you like there is no tomorrow he eventually pushes you out of his range…
Very small tip, but BH st.mp and cr.mp are very good for preemptively stuffing or reacting to (if you are fast enough) his forward dash. Both easily confirm into a combo and are active for 3 frames. With st.mp you can buffer into Target combo, which is only -3 on block, and on hit you know he is standing. BH cr.hp is also very good for stuffing his dash as its active for 4 frames. And realistically you have a bit of leeway to react to his dash, since he is almost guaranteed to throw something out (throw/st.hk) when he reappears.
Once you show him you can handle his dashes it becomes an uphill battle for Bison, since he pretty much has to gimmick you to get in. Do not be scared of his dashes.
What can i use to punish Bison’s fordward dash i have the claw on?
Switch to BH stance lol
I’m not at home to test ATM, but you could try st.hk, which is only -1 on block and has huge payout on hit. It’s also active for 3f.
Stand jab into ex barcelona.
If you are going to stuff him with standing jab, I would cancel into m.ASE instead. Still a decent enough punish without burning a stock.
I wouldn’t bother fighting Bison with claw on. The range gain doesn’t particularly matter in the matchup, and with claw off you can basically force feed bison his own game back at him with st.mp/cr.mp being +1/+2 so he can’t ever hit buttons.
I’m so salty right now…i ran into Tenzen’s gief and i got jab to death again…is surprising how fast Gief can jab vega to death…Tenzen isn’t Neo…he doesn’t really reacts to 8 and 7 frame normals but guess right more often than not…i vary my tempo…and throw my st mp with diferent timing but i still get hit by cr jab more often than not…what bothers me more is that i suspect more characters could do the same…at least Birdie who has a looong cr jab…this situacion makes me miss SF4 cosmic heel and sf x tekken launcher…both moves punished people for mashing cr jab…here we don’t have anything…even barehanded mp doesn’t do the trick
Both standing MPs, claw or no claw, are very vulnerable to being counterhit by jabs or even other normals. Especially with claw on, the hurtbox totally dominates the hitbox.
I hardly get any Gief experience so I’m not aware of how the match-up goes really…but Vega’s cr.MP (clawless) has better priority and active frames…the hitbox extends slightly outside of the hurtbox. Maybe stay away and buffer that into ex.roll?
…bare handed cr Mp has less range that gief cr jab…in fact claw mp has about the same range that Gief’s cr jab but is 2 frames slower…the only thing Vega has that outranges Gief’s cr jab and isn’t ridiculously unsafe is claw st mp but like you said it has bad hurt box…Rom beat Snake Eyes with Vega and send him to losers in the west coast tournament last weekend…i’ll take a closer look at what he did after work…but of the top of my head it was snake eyex that made lots of mistakes and wasn’t willing to play the match up as lame as it needed to be
@“vagabond zero” do you have a link to that match?
yup…it has timestamps the match i’m talking about happened at the 2:18:18 mark…

Thanks!
That was good from ROM though he didn’t anti-air snakeyez a single time.
Yeah I saw that. Snake needed to abuse c.lp more and f+fp.
Does anybody have any tips on the Cammy match-up? I feel like she beats all my normals, and I can’t abuse the air because all of her anti-airs. I hate seriously loathe this bitch.
Meet her in the air if you can, s.lk in between a lot of her block strings. Block strings like (c.mp, c.mp), (c.mp, s.mp), (s.mp, c.mp), and (V-Skill, s.mp) have a gap to jab check.
Only the fourth rashid I’ve ever played I think. Can someone give me advice on where I can stop his pressure or how to approach the match?
