Now it will beat Rashid’s v.trigger which is a physical attack. Vega hits anything with air v.trigger and he’s going through it no matter what. We need this on all his v.triggers. Standing would beat Guile v.trigger booms and grounded fireballs, crouching would beat Akuma’s air fireballs.

IMO, this buff is probably meant to solely counter Rashid’s v.trigger since we were helpless against it in S2.

Massive range? Not really and as a meaty the range is not very important. As a neutral game normal it lacks speed. Only 2 active frames btw, and good meaties have good active frames and are not very slow (9f startup). It forces a standing but only links to s.lp, slash mp or ex fba. Cr.hp has more pushback than s.mk, cr.mk and clawless cr.mp… i want it to be good but lets not kid ourselves.

My frame data app says 2 active frames for claw cr.HP and 4 for clawless cr.HP. Can someone confirm?

@serpentaurus good effort overall - I dunno how those jump-ins kept working against that Guile…if anything that still tells you how bad the match-up is cos that’s the only way to win. Also, I dunno why the Guile player wasn’t using cr.MK and st.MK - those are some of his most annoying buttons. He kept spamming (and whiffing) cr.MP in the neutral instead…with the occasional backfist - Guile’s neutral goes way beyond that.

I just found out Ibuki has EX Kunai recharge. S3 Vega EX stance switch pls.

I was able to try out new stuff for Vega during the beta:

  • after st. HP (claw) xx switch both st. and cr. MP connect, so I think @Veserius was right
  • you can now link st. LP xx ASE after cr. HP (claw) on hit
  • claw FBA allows ANY kind of juggle on hit, including a reset and EX FBA. You can loop EX FBA at least twice after that, not sure if the 3rd one connects.

Last one will probably be impossible to use against anyone with a brain but it’s definitely hilarious.

The c.HP buff is really good. I’m glad a once useless button will now have utility.

Anyone figure out the damage on spending a whole meter on 5 FBA? One non-meter, and 4 follow ups? Better than CA? Even possible? I can already think of a use for this, using the loop to kill the timer to gain a life lead or end a round so the opponent can’t do anything.

can we link an ex fba after and ex fba? I thought the extra juggle buff was for regular fba only.

You can. Not sure about the 3rd one but 2 in a row works.

well i confirmed on some guy stream that grounded vtrigger is the same. They didnt commit a mistake on the patch notes, they purposely added invincible frames to air VT even though it is irrelevant…

I like it

I am a clawless man at heart and the new changes basically say pick claw or fuckoff, but I like the new options and im a fan of cr.hp.
