Edit: * the one that you won fairly dominantly

You were doing the lords work. Repping the SRK SFV Vega boards.

Not really.

You played well and people saw it on stream. Flash Metroid (who told me he was playing bad under pressure) did great with literally no optimized combos. I placed Top 8 at Magic Stick Cup and Myakyo won that one event awhile back. I think we are proving Vega definitely is a contender.

If anything Reiketsu sorta let me down he should have raped Mika, but went about that match all wrong.

I’ll be at the SFV Crash event also with my team mates.

Edit: How did Mike L Na do

Reiketsu is bad, he playing SFIV vega in SFV, wont work.

Reiketsu isn’t even playing like SFIV though. If anyone saw the Mika match, he went claws off the whole time instead of zoning her out like he could have.

Damn, Nemo Vega is hot!!! better than every other Vega i have seen for sure. Taking notes…

Mike L Na didn’t enter Final Round, couldn’t afford to take the time off for the whole trip and he’s not sponsored. I think he’s going to NCR though.

Also, in regards to HP [Stance Change] not being a true blockstring and mashable… you do realize you guys can just connect a blocked HP, stance-switch, and then block with a delayed throw tech? If they mash uppercut right away then the throw won’t come out due to blockstun, and if they sit there and block, you get a throw (or a teched throw). Should give you some valuable data on their habits. If they start mashing, you should still be in blockstun and the throw shouldn’t come out anyways.

Does anyone else think it is complete horse-shit that Vega has jack-shit when under pressure yet we still can lose access to an entire stance by blocking too many hits with the Claw ON?

^ Which is why there’s a big list of things that you V reversal immediately.

So I’m maining Ryu right now, but keeping an eye on this section as I intend to have Vega as a secondary. None of the other characters appeal to me and I was always trash with charge characters in the past so this is a good oppurtunity since Vega is no longer a charge character.

Does his mask have any role in this game or is it simply aesthetic? I know in SFIV it had some sort of property to it like altering damage?

Yeah was going to say this, VReversal is one of the best Reversals in the game if used right imo. It has so many great features…

When it falls off, Vega receives AND deals 10% more damage. This gives effectively both characters 90% defense, and the net result is that the match will go slightly faster from that point due to higher damage on both ends. Nothing groundbreaking, really.

I don’t think Vega has one of the best V-Reversal’s in the game, I think it’s just that Vega having anything he can use under pressure feels great. It doesn’t switch sides, hit them or knock down.

Not to mention it just pushes him closer to the corner and takes away opportunities to use his V-Trigger, which in a lot of scenarios is the only way he can make his pokes actually threatening.

I think Nemo’s vega is incredible. Those walk unders are amazing against jump ins (referring to his matches against eita and daigo on youtube). Flash Metroid did well at Final Round. Its a bummer he got double jeopardied by GO1 chun-li though…

Yeah, Nemo’s Vega has given me a lot of hope for this character and his viability. I still think Vega is strong. I’d put him in upper mid-tier at the moment.

I do think Vega is a character who you don’t want to save meter with and use his CA. He gets so much damage, stun, and precious knockdowns off EX FBA and EX CT. I think using his ex moves is a much better option than CA, but maybe that’s just my opinion.

Yeah as much as I love his CA you are really gimping yourself if you always save for it, especially considering how fast meter builds in this game. All of his EX moves are good. Even when I have CA stocked there are times when I don’t use it because I’d rather have my stocks for EX.

I’m legitimately surprised when I see how far away EX GID scoops up people. A good 200/250 and oki afterwards. Bring that ass here.

what are u guys using to get those initial hits into combos with EX? the only time I get to use these ex moves is if I bait out a reversal and I crush counter them into st hk CC, st hk cr lp xx EX FBA or if I punish a poorly timed fireball into j hk cr mk, cr mp ex roll or something like that. yeah the damage is great. but i’m sure once I face better players i’m not gonna get those type of hits.

typically i’m only using st lk cr lp into lk roll, or something similar. I find it hard to really connect with the clawless medium attacks into big damage.

also what is the oki after ex GID? I thought the best you could do was slightly walk forward and st lk?

I use EX ASE a lot for hit confirms Instead of lk roll. Better damage, stun, and positioning.

Also EX FBA is legit in the corner after a knockdown.

After EX GID you can dash up and get st.lk meaty. I can’t remember if you can get cr.mp or not but you are plus after dash up only on EX command grab… regular command grab you need to walk up you can’t dash.

@kensanity I use st.mk and cr.mk a lot as a meaty. Very easily hit confirmable into st.mp xx EX roll or EX FBA. If I have a hard read I’ll go for meaty st.hp… stupid easy to hit confirm that on counter hit.

Finally sorta set up my stream, just gotta set up the mic and cam, but testing the stream now with a friend in korea.

The Lk isn’t meaty
