I had a blast playing VP at our BBQ gathering today, and on a 42" HDTV no less. Everyone who played picked up the game fairly quickly, with someone getting a match on my Lilith and Luna. I’m gonna learn legit Yui combos so I can teach her to my friend who’s interested in the game.

Anyone here main Kaede? I’m using her exclusively and like her a lot. Any general consensus on how good she is yet? Also, what assist do you guys use for her? I currently use Sheira.

For those of you having trouble getting your fightsticks to work, I suggest going into Control Panel > Game Controllers and playing around with the settings there.

After working for days on end my TE stick suddenly started screwing up thinking top-left was neutral thus making the game completely unplayable.

A quick calibration on the Game Controllers screen fixed it, but it took me a bit to remember to go look there.

Also, another thing that I notice about using game pads/sticks is that sometimes the game automatically assigns the actions to buttons 1,2,3,4,5,6. Also it uses the x and y axis of your controller. On some systems you can not change this. It will still acknowledge you controller but wont let you configure your controls.

You can play VP in Wine (I play it on Linux and works like charm).

After installing Japanese language support and changing folder/file names open terminal (or whatever you have on Mac OS similiar in function) cd to VP folder, and issue command LANG=ja_JP.utf8 wine game.exe (where game.exe is VP executable).

Guys, does the game stop sometimes when you are playing VP with Lunaport and Replay record on? It doesn’t do that when I’m just playing VP, but I’d like to record some reps from tournaments I go to and play some VP at.

I’m a German player, so you probably don’t know me.
Doubt it will play that well between USA and Germany, at least I guess you are American.

I’ll download R39 later and test if it works offline with recording replays. If not I’ll try debug and replace the game.ini again.

Hi,

I just downloaded this game today. It was the version hacked by Saikyou. I changed the exe and kgt file to vanguard princess. Game starts up but goes through first couple screens and I get an error. Here is a screenshot of the error. I’ve set my regional setting to japanese.

The game can’t find the opening demo (???.demo) because the file names are all in gibberish. And if you’ve actually set your regional settings to Japanese you won’t need Saikyou’s editted files and shouldn’t have any problems running the game. In the Regional and Language Options, make sure you checked the box under the Language tab that says “Install files for East Asian languages” and change language to Japanese for non-Unicode programs and check the box for Japanese under the Advanced tab

If I remember correctly…you dont need to rename the files to work with lunaport (with the version I renamed), just run the program in the same folder and it will find it.

“@K[hvZX.exe” and “@K[hvZX.kgt” are the “original” names of the files if you want to try xero273.

I made another version including the hacked versions of files with Hilda avaible as optional files, it was posted here before but if anyone wants to download all at the same time…
