i cant seem to instal this game. i dont see an exe anywhere. i just installed the i386 for for jap context but i still cant seem to find anything but notepads and one icon that says 2d. do i need to dl ver 1.00 first? that page isnt up anymore anyway

Andy, you need to either change your regional and locale settings to japanese or use Applocale to run the game. You only need to run the vanpri101.exe program to extract the game to what ever folder you want, afterwards you just click on ???.exe

i dont see an exe on the vanpri101 folder. i see nothing but notepads in japaneese. only one thing that is not in note pad is this icon that says 2d 2nd 2001 enterbrain/outback. when i click on that i get a 1second cmd screen then it leaves.

I just downloaded and checked this version http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KY475XBT which is linked on the wiki and extracted the game. It has all the files and it runs fine.

i dled what you linked and its the same exact thing. etract the rar file then it turned into a 7z file, extract the 7z file then its a folder. the folder is not an exe

Andy, I’m half as computer literate as you and I got it working on the first try. There’s two folders that come with unzipping the game, the vanpri one very, VERY clearly has an exe file in it to work with. Its icon has a little red man on it. That’s what you’re working with.

you need to change the name of those 2 files. After that open applocale and search for the exe.
The other way to get the game working is to change the Locale to japanse on your control panel
Check that your antivirus program isn’t deleting the .exe as it downloads. Some antivirus programs can do that if set up incorrectly.
Or just try the version that Saikyou fixed for US locale machines on the previous page, which seems to work fine.
People are having problems running this?
First, make sure you have Asian characters and AppLocal installed.
Second, rename the folder which holds the Fight Maker .exe into something in english, say “Vanguard Princess” (direct translation of hiragana)
Next, rename both the Fight Maker .exe .kgt file into something in english, say “vanpri” (the kgt file must therefore be renamed “vanpri.kgt”. Do not forget to include the the extension when renaming the kgt file.)
Use AppLocale to run the game from its directory.
What’s inside the vanpri101 folder when you’re done extracting? Like DashKrimson said, your antivirus might be removing some files as you extract or something. If you could can you take a picture of whats inside the folder? Would help alot.
Or just download this file. Saikyou renamed all the files so you can run it. Works for me and I couldn’t the game to run before.
Can someone help me out? This might seem kinda noob, but I’m using a keyboard to play this. I use Haruka, and I just cannot seem to be able to do her Crimson Line (236B+C). Ive tried pressing down and holding for a split second before pressing right, pressing down then right immediately after. I can do the wiki combos but it’s frustrating cause I can’t finish em off :[

I think I found the problem. It occurs when I input the attack buttons. I can’t seem to press them at the same time or something.
When the game slows down even slightly you’ll find it much harder to do inputs. I’ve been annoyed a few times by Natalia pilebunkers not coming out when I want to get in some chip damage off knockdown, and I get the ass attack instead.
So don’t play Vanguard princess if you have any internets running in the background or something.
I’m sure this has been asked before but the search function keeps giving me a blank screen. Has anyone gotten a stick to work with this yet? Both my TE and HRAP’s directional inputs aren’t recognized. Seems like I could configure the ? ? ? ? directions in the game.ini file but I don’t have a keycodes list
Alright I’ll try it without the pr0n in the background. Also, I can’t get LunaPort to work. After I select host a game, it just says “waiting for connection to LunaPort” for an infinite amount of time. xDD Any suggestions?
After you host a game you have to give your ip adress to the other player so he can join you and play =)
if you choose to join you will notice it asks for an Ip ^^
If you want to we can have a match. But you have to join the irc.
After trying it out with a friend today, I want to continue putting some time into it. Fun game, not sure who I want to main at the moment.
