Has anyone noticed that if you do a reflect at the beginning of any jump (f, b, neutral) that your jump is much ‘floatier’, and goes MUCH higher than a normal? Bug or feature? You can’t do any other actions after that, though.

After playing for most of the weekend it’s my personal belief that Yui is the best character in the game with Echo being the best assist. Yui’s normals have absurd range, her mix ups are god like, extremly high comeback potential, all (if I’m not mistaken) combos end up in the corner, and damage output is pretty beast too.

Spooky’s Yui (with Echo) is a monster.

My Yui is all pokes, random dp, and magical girl assist set ups. She’s so good that my douche bag playstyle actually works.

If anyone is going to EVO I promise to make you annoyed as hell in this game!

really sounds like she needs some nerfing. You usually don’t get range AND priority AND speed AND damage all at the same time. :lol:

Yeah she’s total bullshit.

I mean her 2C, a SWEEP, launches an opponent and easily combos into her 236+BC which literally does over half life. I won so many matches just managing to get that in there. Ugh.

The “main” character being absurdly powerful? Who knew? :looney:

Don’t forget that Yui’s attacks also do mad stun. With one 421B > 623B in the corner plus loli shoryuken she already puts the opponent’s stun meter in red.

Her projectile cover also goes pretty much full screen and covers a lot of space if you’ve been doing a lot of jump Cs.

Why do you keep asking if we should start a discussion of strats/combos, like, 15 pages into discussion of strats/combos?

…I thought we have for the most part till I came in with a tangent about “sprites” and then we came back onto combos…

…Or maybe I’m just blind or something, Regardless I’ll give that a try to see what’s up with it.

So, Kurumi’s (one special move loli) 236+BC has her combine with whatever assist. You need both meters maxed to do it. Each assist does a different transformation and super. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE ASSIST NAMES ARE SO IF SOMEONE WOULD BE SO KIND AS TO CORRECT ME. (I cannot read squiggle-speak.)

Mecha Loli: Massive screen filling mech girl, shoots lazors, 19 hits, ~47% damage.
Magic Loli: Some Touhou looking shit, shoots fireworks/Jubilee glitter, 12 hits, ~30% damage.
Shoto Loli: Somewhat like Kos-Mos, proton cannon lazor, 10 hits, ~38% damage.
Ball and Chain Loli: Turns into super Loli Knight, does Lightning Storm. Damage depends on how close you are. Throw range does 12 hits and ~59% damage.
BOSS LOLI: Does absolutely nothing. Super does not even work.

I don’t think Kurumi’s a loli. She seems around 16-17 to me, just with a flat chest. She’s an ornary girl.

And yeah, the combination super also starts up really fast and is pretty much a confirmed hit if they aren’t blocking when you get the super pause.

They’re all pretty useful. I didn’t know that ball + chain and Mecha did the most damage. She works really nicely with mecha too.

Yeah, Mecha’s 6D assist helps out a lot.

General warning with Kurumi: If you use 88 in the air, calling an assist during and after the bounce (up until she actually stands again) will incur an assist penalty. The assist will still do the attack, however!

EDIT: On further inspection, it just seems that the second bounce will only incur a penalty if the assist is still in an attacking animation when she hits the ground. Hm. Same with her air 22; as soon as she hits the ground, penalty.

I already went over this early on in the thread. But that’s right. However, you can still get off some assist off 88 if the assist finishes what it’s doing before she lands. Same for her air 22.

Damn, that’s what I get for skipping some pages. Sorry for the repost. So, are there any other hidden tricks with her? I’m so curious as to if she’s just an unfinished character or what.

Not that I’ve found. The big deal about her is that her loli guage fills REALLY fast, and her one special move is really good for linking together combos with assists. She also has really fast normals and can combo normally from her weak attacks to her strong ones, which not many characters can do in this game.

So basically you’re going to be using her 22 air to get in close to the opponent, then serve up some mad pressure. When things get bad, you just keep spamming jump 88 and run away until your guage is full again.
