Someone in the front page has commented " Proceeds from the game go to the recovery relief fund for Japan (earthquake/tsunami)", is this true? if so now everything is clear… now i will understand why Sugeno stopped development of VP and pass the project to eigoManga, Sugeno was totally supporting the reconstruction of his city, i guess this was his best idea for help.
Although I don’t mind supporting the game, the SecuROM bit really puts a hamper into a lot of factors for me. I’ll bit the bullet and buy it but someone better explain to me how to remove the DRM because I’ll be damned if I let that shit stay in my system.
At any rate, as Hayama stated, I would really like some word that my purchase of the game will go to helping Sugeno with the recovery of his hometown due to the earthquake/tsunami. Hopefully, the more people buy it, the more chances we’ll get to see PRIME released in the future.
Apparently, it’s only a pishwash implementation of SecuROM and you can simply uninstall it and it won’t leave a trace on your comp. Still waiting for instructions and confirmation on this though.

In all honesty, I really wished more could have been done with this release other than just a simple translation & addition of Hilde. Adding an actual option menu & stage select menu would have been a nice touch along with netplay. Those are the only gripes about this I have but other than that, it seems ok.
I know this is pretty minute, but how bad is the censorship?
As far as I’ve seen thus far, the only character that was censored was Luna but even so, it’s nothing much. It’s just when she’s doing any move similar to her 5C. The bandaid is replaced with…errr, a metalic bandaid? O_o
Again, nothing really anything different other than that.
And for the love of all that is holy, the setups that can be done with Lilith+Hilde. I think I’ve found my new team outside of Kaede+Eko.

People say that there is no Securom in Vanpri. But nothing encouraging else. Is that right?
I don’t see why not. I mean, I can’t seem to find anything deeming to be remotely broken on her as an assist. Unless someone finds out some stuff that is, I say she should be allowed.
The SecuROM is there but it’s only in place as an one-time activation countermeasure. It’s easy to remove after activating it (which is what I did and the game runs fine without it). I found no traces of it on my system after deleting the file that makes up the activation.
Ok so i call Austin Oskueke yesterday and he clear up a lot questions you guys might about the release Vanguard Princess on G.G. and who add the SecuROM DRM to it also XBLA release and which version it is and netplay. He going to Email a statement soon that talks about all the thing above and more. I am going to cross post it to other forums as soon as i get it also if someone could get it on the front of SRK it would a big help.
Try to see if he can tell you if there are any differences on how the characters behave on this version compared to the original one.

Here’s our official message regarding Vanguard Princess:
"The game was prematurely released before while we were still working on features for the game. Aside from being 100% in English, it’s based off of version 1.08 (for you long-term gamers out there) with certain bugs fixed, “Child Hilda” is a playable character, and we had to clean up the objectionable content so that we won’t scare away new gamers and appeal to various rating codes; other than that the game play has not changed.
Rest assured, all of us are taking the viewpoints from fans seriously and Vanguard Princess is a long term business segment for us. The XBLA port is still on as well as other platforms such as Mac OSX and Android. While we’ve done a lot of the localization internally, other features for the game such as the cross-platform ports and multiplayer gaming have been handed over to specialized development firms based in Silicon Valley.
The listing from Gamersgate site is been suspended until we make a formal release which will be before Christmas. The SecuROM will NOT be on the latest release. Thanks, guys!"
