I mash u/f when I go to the left side of the screen, but I mash u, f, f when I go to the the right side of the screen.
I feels more natural for me because I don’t like the feel of moving the stick u/f to the left, and vice-versa for the right.
Must be because I’m left-handed or something.

There would be no way I could use my right hand for the stick, I already tried it once and I couldn’t IAD for shit.
