Oh that’s what you mean, well it’s not to hard to change speed.
i didnt even know about teh darkstalkers sweries until it was already old.
(learning of it through character appearences in vs games)
it hasnt aged well visually and it looks really ruff now.
i tried on mame but coudlnt get into it due to seeing it for the first time in all its old age glory and not having the benefit of remembering when it was actually the pinicle of graphical 2d achievement.
would be nice to see them do a new one in the series and starangely enough i dont think i would have a problem with it being in 3d like sf4
(where as i was up in arms about sf4)
Well they did say they were interested in doing the next in the series, hopefully it will have a anime and comical look to it like the original series.
As long as Lilith is in it, I will buy. <3
The first time I played Darkstalkers was on the playstation, when it was brand new, had a blast with it.
Which game did you play Mr List?
Chuy has the game at his house, Aikou. We should ask him if we can play it the next time he hosts games. I’m always up for games.
I would love to, I have not had the opportunity to play face to face with anyone in years, the practice would be greatly appreciated.
Get ready to eat jabs and Bubbles. :bgrin:
i tried out the first one in mame (made sense)
i wasnt sure which is the (errr) ‘proper’ main game in the series to play,
since the last one is two different versions (both japanese) and it doesnt have like a finished artical ultimate version telegraphed.
(like alpha 3 upper max, easy to see which is the proper one)
Well, Vampire Hunter and Vampire Savior play different, VH is like the original and Street Fighter, while VS is more like Marvel vs Capcom.
I played a Felicia player yesterday on GGPO, we played about 50 games, I lost every single time, but I had a blast.
That was my first online match, it was Turbo 3, it made my head spin.
Vampire Savior 1 is the “Alpha 3 Upper” of the series. It has also aged much better than the earlier game you tried IMO.
Getting better with my Jedah, really love his unblockables.
I wouldn’t so much call them “unblockables” so much as I would call them “Hahaha if you block this and land on my Super, you’re eating damage” IMO, I wouldn’t use Jedah’s supers so much, if at all. I would definitely focus on learning how to rush people down use his dashing moves to your advantage. Jedah can do damage in a hurry and creating a mixup game off of his Dash normals is the key to being successful with him. Sure, that ES wheel or Wheel into pit super is nice for a gimmick on people who don’t know better, but creating the mixups off of a dash is what will get you wins against the better players.
All you have to do is this to avoid Jedah’s “unblockable”:
Jump and airblock the wheel, then press an attack button at the end of the wheel. This sends you forward towards Jedah and avoids his super. Also, unless you place the ES wheel or even regular wheel perfectly, there’s really nothing stopping the person from jumping straight up and avoiding your super. It’s really gimmicky.
So yeah, Dash normals, learn them, love them. You will fuck people up with them.
Yeah I already use his dashes alot.
They are unblockables but they are far from actually being practical to use very often. Sometimes its better to just eat the air wheel because if you block the wheel and you land in a certain point, They can just wait a split second until you land and then use the move because your still in blockstun. So sometimes its just better to eat the mediocre damage. Jedah is a rather gimmicky character but im not taking anything way from people who use him well.
To the guy using jedah: I dont really suggest using jedahs unblockable vs decent players too much. You will get your face bashed in. Instead learn his empty jump dash chains to mix up what your doing vs your opponent. This will confuse them because if done properly jedah can do up to 4 normals while in the air for a very nasty mixup/okizeme game. I suggest taking the time out to actually learn that stuff. Very very important for jedah players
Oki-what? I don’t understand your moonspeak.
Okizeme refers to wakeup/when the opponent is getting up.
So, can someone explain how Sasazuka did Pendulum -> Airdash -> Pendulum in this vid? He does it 3 times. First one is at about 0:23 in the video.
Normally Air Dashing takes away the ability to do air specials at all. I can’t get it to come out at all.

I thought I already told you to mash harder.
Okizeme is just wakeup games. Guilty Gear players use the term okizeme more often than players of other games, not sure why. I read once that they like the term okizeme because ‘wakeup’ doesn’t distinguish whether or not its you or your opponent that’s waking up, but I don’t know if that’s really why the term caught on or not.
Hmm…after the airdash cancel a normal (lp?) into pendelum…I think that’ll work…
Yeah, doing a kara for an air special when you normally can’t allows you to special. So technically, when you do an air normal, you can do a special as well.
