Vampire Savior: advanced link combos & important notes

Tell iHira I said “4 seperate streaks, wut?” :stuck_out_tongue:

Talk in moar riddles. =(

Only if you JUMP MOAR!!!

Hur hur.

Can someone give some tips for Dimitri and Lei Lei? I figure they’re both runaway, and thats…all I can figure.

Demitri has a sick G.C., abuse that shit. Links off of ES bat are damaging.

Lei-lei has stuupid knock down/wake up games. Learn to cancel her c.FP into s.RH on hit or block. Pendulum cancels with RH combined with her AD give you tons of mobility. s.forward+MP is nasty. Jumping MP/FP are really good. s.forward + FP can be canceled with s.RH as well on hit or block. After hitting with a pendulum while moving forward you can link into air normals. ES pendulum can do alot of chip.

Demitri: Be aggressive and learn to get psychic with DP’s…as his DP is easily one of the best in the game. Dash DP is deceptive because it doesn’t look like it’ll hit you and then bam! you’re eating stage floor. Also learn to dash back and forth after knockdown to mess up your opponent. If you have meter for the level 2 midnight bliss, gun for that off of a dash. That has incredible range and will catch your opponent a lot unless he/she KNOWS it’s coming. Very hard to stop that on reaction. Lots of Jumping MK, and if your opponent is crouching, I believe it may cross them up at the right distance.

Lei Lei: I know little about her, learn to IAD (instant air dash) with her. It sets up a lot and you get her big combos off of that. Look to land tenrai-ha (her raging demon- lk hk mp mp U) if you have meter, especially after a lengthy string. If you can land it in the corner…it’s pretty hard to stop. RisunoMeijin summed up a lot too.

If you are new my first suggestion is not to learn lei lei. She will only make your experience harder and less enjoyable. With demi there are several things to learn.

  1. Patience
  2. learn to set up his midnight pleasure unblockable
  3. do NOT play him like a shoto
  4. Instant dash DP

Demi is pretty straight forward, but in higher levels of play demi can be a real bitch to play. He doesnt have any overheads like alot of the cast and he doesnt really have pressure strings. He is built to simple punish peoples mistakes so thats how he should be played. Playing him aggressively can work but I dont really recommend it. Dash DP for him is very important because his normal DP has no directional arc except for up. dash DP gives him alot of range and huge arch but it can be hard to do. Learn to do this move on command.

Thats all you really need to know with demi. His match ups are rather solid. I believe he loses to victor, felicia, talbain, qbee and raptor against everyone else his match ups are decent or slightly in his favor. If you have any match ups questions feel free to ask me.

Just a quick update. I’m currently working on a few projects and want to gauge interest on one of them.

I have a Skype account and I would be willing to interview some top players on there (a la Gootecks) in order to get people interested in the game, while at the same time…leveling up people who are already playing this game with strategies, mindsets and so forth. If you’re interested, drop me a PM or hit me up on AIM or MSN.

My second little project is a small tutorial vid for Rikuo. I’m not the best player, but I can provide some insight as to his moveset, combos, block strings, mixups, bubble setups and so forth. It’ll be shot in GhettoVision though, because I’m too dumb to work Fraps…lol.

And how exactly do you intend on giving out strats and getting people into this game? I Would love to know this. This game has been around for years and very few people are interested in even remotely trying it. Game is “too hard” or “too fast” for alot of people so interviewing people who dont even play the game to get more people into playing the game doesnt make much sense. Then again, Maybe im seeing this wrong

No no, you misinterpret. I mean interviewing like B-IzM, SkankinGarbage, perhaps yourself and Mag…etc. Give people insight to the game and how it’s worth a shot, while still talking about strategies and so forth that help people who are getting into the game and have been playing for a little while. It helps a lot to have someone experienced help you with mindsets and strategies. My Rikuo is pretty much just self-taught and you can see where that got me…lol.

I can see your skepticism and I appreciate the feedback, Aya.

You should interview me, and I’d be like, I mash up forward forward. =)

And you should make that video to try to hype up Vampire. =O

I still dont think its worth it but try anyway i suppose. You can message me on msn if you want to interview me i guess

My bee broke down today, I feel like I was playing as good as I was last year. X.x

Oh, and with Jedah, after a dashing HK, is this where I mix up?

I hear ya

I dunno, I’ve grown a lot. I have those days though… -_-

When that happens, I usually switch to Anak, but if I’m against someone who royally fucks up Anak ( almost everyone ) I switch to either Demi, Rik, or Jedah.
