ok im new to vamp but I have to say this is already my favorite fighter!
ok anyways back to questions I play Hsien-ko (Lei-Lei)/ B.B. Hood (Bulleta )
which is better for a beginner? also is Lei-Lei a good rushdown character?

can someone link to some good vids of these characters?

Some Bishamon Corner & Mid screen setups i messed around with in practice mode

you must inch back a pixel to get the pixel to set it up for the unblockable. usually, the hcf’s back input is enough to set it up perfectly. these were done on demitri.

i know this one is standard but ill throw it in there anyway

  • dash hk. <—note that i still use the back input to inch back, works fine.

  • dash lp, c.lp c.lk, inch a little more back than the back input itself. the timing here is right before he takes a step back, its still fast though.

  • c.mp, c.lp, back input during hcf+es spirit. i like this one, its pretty easy.

  • c.lk, take a whole step back, es spirit. this one is if they’re too careful and like to block a lot. NOT recommended on mashers.

  • dash s.mp, c.lk, whole step back es spirit. its kinda hard to land but it works.

well at the beginning i said the back input should be enough to inch back for some of these, but when i say a step back its just a little quick step back, barely noticable.

or you can just get pro and memorize the exact spacing for it, which is hard though  .

edit: these dont hit morrigan, lilith, or q bee. (bulleta too? havent tested)

I’ve been messing around with this game for a bit on GGPO its cool but I hate, no let me rephrase that fucking detest Talbain players that jump around and attack you like they got no fear what so ever. Btw I’m learning Jedah.

well since you’re using jedah yeah it will be hard. i would tell you to just anti air that shit but thats not the case with jedah. his claw move that puts you in a ball and gets the scythe out is his only, but not reliable, anti air. if they’re jumping mindless walk up and do the move, it should catch them a lot.

if not just throw a wheel out and if they cant tech it rush in and own it up :).

I’m still learning Q-bee, and I have been having trouble doing her air dash then over-heading really fast. Is there any tips on trying to air dash faster?

u/f u/f twice, it should come out. its harder to do on p1 side on stick, what are you using?

I’ve been using a Namco stick on converter, I’m still new to fighting games, so I am still getting the hang of using a stick.

ok well just get used to u/f u/f then…its the easiest and most effective way to IAD.

IAD = instant air dash, q bee, rapter, and lei lei have it (i may have missed a character.)

Does a Up, Up Forward, Forward motion two times work also?

if you do that you should only have to do it once… You basically need to be in the air and hit foward twice… so U/f U/f is generally easier, but U,F,F works or U/F,F just have to make sure you let the stick go to neutral for a sec so it registers right I think…

Awesome, that seems much easier than the other motion.

:edit: I can’t really get that motion to work, but I get Up, Forward, Forward really fast to work. It’s just that I can’t get it work going toward player 1 side. D=

I recorded two sets of first-to-5 done on 12-22-07:

I’m just getting back into this game. Haven’t played against a serious player in nearly 3 years.

What is Morrigan’s best option against jump ins? Should I reversal dp or just block, or is there something better. Her moves don’t seem to have any priority.

thanks to shardz for recording.

i think he wasnt used to the few frames of input delay at all, but got it down more towards the end. fun games :lovin:

Thanks mate

[Edit] Forget it.

Earlier in this topic I asked and was told that Dark Gallon is NOT banned from tourney play.

He has no gameplay differences from regular Talbain, only aesthetic changes (animation for Dragon super, intro pose, win pose, winning theme music).

Ah, I must’ve been thinking Oboro Bishamon. Probably shouldn’t be trying to answer questions after not touching the game for like 2 years.
