Vampire Savior: advanced link combos & important notes

Nah, Sas still wins a lot in Moon Language land i.e DCC. Sas is hella ghey but not unbeatable so seeing him lose whenever should be expected.

Oh, check out DDSasquatch’s YT for some Jedah vs Sasquatch. I forgot who the Jedah is offhand but they had a set of like 10 and should be helpful.

Oh, and guys, please read the SRK Wiki. Not all characters have been finished or started yet but GB really did put down some wonderful info for whoever is up there.

Honestly IMO the 3 best characters…for me of course is BB,Sas, and Jedah. But honestly Zabel is like Jedah but with a few more advantages and hella priorities.

Can you block after the whiffed chain attack?
Although most likey you’re going to be attacked with a ground normal which renders that moot.

It might just be that the better players are using other people. Like, Zantetsu is by far the most overpowered character in Last Blade 2, but everyone you see playing him sucks.

teach me a lil more of this game <3.

sorry about the other times about being a complete noob, i read their moves this time and chains so things should go a lot smoother :D.

cannot block. the point of using it is to apply a varied form of pressure, the window between the wiffed move, and the descending move is almost non existent

So what’s the deal with Vampire Chronicle for DC?

I’ve heard it isn’t arcade perfect, but I’ve also heard you can use dipswitches to make it arcade perfect, but I can’t even find a dipswitch menu :frowning:

I ordered the PS2 version, but I’d like to play until it arrives

Can someone post a good Jedah guide? I’ve read the one on wiki, but I’d like more detailed info. From GGPO / youtube, here are my thoughts:

Jedah isn’t a defensive zoning type character - he’s really pure rush with wheels as “cover.” His run away game isn’t bad for recovery white until he gets cornered. Hence it’s better to rush IMO given his shitty AA (cr mk) and generally poor defensive options.

His supers are highly situational. That is you will almost never see them used in a top player match. I have yet to see daigo using the ES wheel into ground super. If you can correctly predict a jump back, or a laggy super (coffin drop) or special, you should be able to land the super by prediction. Otherwise I’m pretty sure all ES wheel into ground supers are escapable without taking red damage. The one situation where it may not be is if on wake up, a wheel is above the character so he can’t jump without hitting the wheel. At the same time going back is impossible because of force block. The only real option would be to dash forward under the wheel (which is possible for many characters). I don’t believe you can tiger knee the wheel xx super while the other character is in block stun. This should be impossible.

I see japs use links instead of chains. I’m not sure exactly why cause jedah has no useful links into supers / specials. Links might do more damage. st fk seems like a popular poke into cr hp or cr rk. Rushdown seems to be about empty chains either via airdash or ground dash.

Questions:

  1. Should all meter be used for ES wheels in high level play?
  2. How good is his alpha counter?
  3. Any specific cases where the supers come in handy?
  4. chains / links should end in cr rk over cr hp. what are some examples of shit that happens if you fuck up and cr hp? get punished supered at most ranges?
  5. any good jedah vids?

Hi,

  • I’ve been linking to 2007 vids on my little blog. Filebank/uploader links are dead but other shit is ok, I think.

  • Daigo was just messing about in that Jedah vid. He won nationals with Bishamon (vs. Nuki, also Bish) and continued to dominate for a while @ ranbats in '97 and '98 with Bishamon. Daigo = Bishamon. Not Jedah.

  • Not sure who top Jedahs are but Shimatsuya, Ho-e and Benzo are all very strong.

  • The winningest players in the modern era are the top Sasquatches (Haitani, Nasu) top Zabels (t2ya, Sakai, Shiimaro aka CAA) and top QBs (Yankee, Sakamoto (aka SakaQ?), SIN)

  • Other top players:
Sako with the only-he-can-do-it combo was the best Bulleta but I don’t think he plays much lately (focusing on ST and 3S?) so Kosho.

Kaji is miles beyond any Lilith. Probably the winningest low tier player in the history of fighting games. Air block -> point blank luminous. Good stuff.

Oboro is miles beyond any Victor (including Kame.) Watch for his zurashi action. With Giga Burn it’s like: attack, tiny hesitation, knee attack. Subtle but nasty.

I’m pretty sure there has never been an Anakaris that comes to close to Chikyu. I mean back when dude used to play VS seriously the mummy was considered a strong character.

Here are some tourney results:

Battle Festival 2004 (pre-SBO tourney)
1st: Atsuta (Lei^2), sako (Bulleta), CAA (Zabel), SIN (Q-Bee), Masao (Sas)
2nd: Yankee (QB), Kosho (Bulleta), Nasquatch, Kaji (Lilith), Nuki (Bishamon)

Super Batle Opera 2004
1st: Haitani (Sasquatch)
2nd: t2ya (Zabel)

Judgement Day 2005
1st: Kaji (Lilith), Kosho (Bulleta) Hoe (Jedah)
2nd: WHO (Sasquatch) Oouchi (Jedah), DD* (Jedah)
*yeah I guess dude switched to sasquatch

Darkstalkers Combination Cup 2006
1st: Sakai (Zabel), t2ya
2nd: Dara (Demitri), Oboro (Victor)

Darkstalkers Combination Cup 2007
1st: Nasu, Kosho, Kaji
2nd: Norio (Bishamon), t2ya, Yankee

Is there any reason to use gallons darkforce?

theres nothing you can do to make it arcade perfect. how do you make a game arcade perfect that doesnt exist in arcades to begin with? bottom line, its trash, unless you are the type that loves those crossover games like ae and hyper alpha.

vampire collection is the game that has dipswitch and rom verssion selection for each game

! Felicia overhead combo!

useful vids, thanks a bunch man.

edit: i didnt wanna double post so here goes.

for all you felicia players heres something i picked up in a jap video.

skip to about 3:06, he does a dash overhead mp, then links it with a lp roll (qcf+lp) into uppercut (p after roll.) this combo is great to get damage off of your mixups.

one thing i noticed about the jap felicia players i see is s.mkxxc.hp chain. maybe its to confuse them from s.mk c.hk, and delay timings while looking like you’re doing something. it looks like you get frame advantage, her c.hp is amazingly fast. maybe you can walk a little and c.lk and hit them before they hit you (not uppercuts like demi.)

one thing to remember about her corner game that i’ve learned from experience, as well as see in jap videos is to stay out of throw range and keep the pressure on, they’re going to jump so always be ready to anti air (c.mp for the further ranges, c.hp if they’re almost right above you, works excellent.)

just some of my notes and thoughts for felicia

more edit:mix up that rolling out of the corner by moving back and forth to a string combo.

sorry for the double post but is there such thing as a color pallette site for this game? would be cooler to see them in one spot rather than manually picking them to find out

vampiresavior.com

On the top bar click the lower left icon (to the right of the tip of jedah’s weapon.)
Then the characters are the regular text links below "Top Page >>"etc.
Colors are at the bottom. Cute icons instead of screen caps but you get the idea. It goes jab strong fierce PPP, short medium kick roundhouse KKK. Does auto-guard have it’s own colors or something? I guess those are the last two.

Autoguard has 2 colors that are a lighter variation of one of the standard colors… i think its usually lp and mp?

Hey nonoho you play victor ya? Is there any uses for his hop move (d+ppp) Also when can you land the charge d,u+p move? It seems like it works after the 360+p though might be screen dependent… Also seems like the charge d,u+k super is just for random full screen poke, yay or nay?

Goes over low attacks right away. Too slow innit?

As a pounce?
Yeah after the 360, uh electric low RH and the move itself. I mean Mega Stake (normal hit) -> Mega Stake (pounce)

If you hit an airborne opponent just right they won’t be able to air block and it’ll do three hits for big damage.

Having knocked an opponent down if you can catch them sliding towards you, you can sort-of do an ambiguous cross up. Kinda lame.

In some video (maybe one of the VIP ones) after a knockdown Oboro whiffed the thunder break too early and then did an FAB. Crazy bastard…

Mostly it’s used to shave the last sliver of life.

i noticed people have different dark forces according to which strength they use.

is felicia the same way?

Unfortunately, felicia is one of those characters with only one dark force. However, that dark force in particular is up there as one my top 5 simply because the helper can put peeps on lock down. Also there are combos that you can do off of it that lead
to one stock loss for the helpless foe who gets hit by the helper. I do not know how to do those combos though lol.

you can 1 hit xx lp yarn ball (i know its a balloon but yarn ball is cooler) x N repeat then s.mp xx hcf+pp (Dance Flash) at the end. her normals do a lot better damage in dark force too :D. also the dash overheads then kitty hits, c.lk yarn ball kitty hits, then start the c.mk yarn ball pattern…although i havent been able to finish it yet :P.

Some questions-
1- Is ‘Dark’ Gallon banned? (I actually doubt this but I want to make sure)
2- Has anyone seen any Darkstalkers or Darkstalkers’ Revenge combo vids? The only ones I can find are for 3.
