Vampire Savior: advanced link combos & important notes

what?

You can use Jedah’s :qcb::p: as an early anti-air and I think c. MK can be used as a preemptive AA, but other than that, you just have to guard cancel/tech hit or air dash away. You shouldn’t be on the ground much with him anyway. The whole reason why Jedah’s mid-tier is that once you’ve got him on the defensive, he can’t really do much. You need to stay on the offensive with him.

Tech-hitting is important as hell. If you can one hit tech, it makes a huge difference in your game.

just fuckin around.

on a more serious note to everyone - vs a good zoning demitri you wanna always walk and block. tech block corner him and watch those uppercuts and play safe :nunchuck:

edit: to elaborate more, stretch showed me if you get hit by a drill, or block it the wrong way, some characters can punish it by walking then chain combo. it should would with most characters, unless their c.lk or c.lp is too short, then just raw sweep it or something. felicia can use her hcf+pp to punish it, it has low blockstun :D.

i dont like demitri anymore after i realized i couldnt play him like a shoto 87(

Are the combos posted in the first post the BnB for each char? If not, where can I find em? Thanks.

Holy shit I totally overlooked the first post, somehow. Time to practice.

Man, I want to see this now. I’ve been a LORD RAPTOR player since day one, but I always heard talk about him being top tier without anyone really showing why. Seriously, please put those videos up =)

does anyone have a color chart for this game?

sasquatch has quite possibly the lowest low jump/air dash i’ve ever seen. it seems to be fast and fullscreen too- -. when i try to establish my air offense he has plenty of anti airs to shoot me down. its probably a bad matchup, but I guess i picked the wrong character for me

Sasquatch is the best. Jedah isn’t… ahha. Its going to be a hard match. There isn’t much you can do but try and air rush him down, and run away and throw blades. But if you do it to much his ES ice spike will cut you down. Play safe and be careful, also IAD into his fly can work okay as anti-air if you are quick because it has alot of priority. Don’t get flustered just keep playing and looking for those lucky es blades and if sassy gets to rush down happy pop his damn bubble.

so why is felicia mid tier? i dont find ANY bad matchups with her, she can rush shit for free (other than demitri.)

i dont have problems with sasquatch or Q bee. i havent played a good rapter yet so i cant say that. demi just requires more patience and safer play. she wall clings over all of jedah, rikuo, anak, lots of others and can stop rushes with c.mp anti air. her s.hk far poke is insanely good. c.hp hits whatever c.mp misses, i even stopped a crossup jump in with c.hp.

another thing is her jump in hp hk, hits a lot of tall characters good enough to c.lp c.lk +c.mp dance EX. c.hk is a good poke too.

so im just curious = what stops felicia? if anything i’d have to say bishamon was a harder matchup, but not a really bad one either.

I think it has to do with the fact that she doesn’t really have any tools for zoning, her combos are pretty basic, her normals lack range, and she doesn’t have any kind of special dash or IAD for rushdown. She’s sort of like the epitome of the game’s basic gameplay, but she doesn’t really have that x-factor that someone like Zabel does.

-Talbain has way too much priority and speed on those flying moves (the Japanese actually consider him to be kind of scrubby), plus he moves at a similar speed that Felicia does except he’s got way more range on his normals, a better air dash, a quick command ground dash, and better combos.
-Zabel has crazy IAD that goes in both directions, tons of range on his normals, a fast teleport, dash-links and that electricity move that’s almost completely invincible, safe, and comes out in half a second.
-Q-Bee has an even more retarded IAD, wall dives for getting distance quickly and a bubble super for keeping you pinned down.
-Aulbath has his bubble BS (basically this game’s aegis reflector) and a lot of priority in the air, but lacks a usable guard cancel.
-Bishamon has batshit insane ground rushdown, a ton of links, good zoning tools and a lot of crazy 50-50 wake-up games with late downed attacks.
-Sasquatch has the low jump from hell, mountains of priority and that ice fortress move that’s basically a safer version of Zabel’s bullshit move.
-B.B. Hood has missiles for zoning, and lots of crazy dash links.
-Demitri can safely zone and run away all day if he wants. His reversal has crazy priority as well.
-Lei-Lei has a great zoning game, good IAD rushdown, crazy priority on her air normals, the best anti-air next to Demitri and she’s constantly dropping shit on you to keep you pinned and swinging around.

Characters with low jumps/IADs like Sasquatch and Q-Bee can set-up a lot of 50-50 BS.
A lot of these characters focused on ground rushdown also have good command throws, so even blocking becomes dangerous.

Felicia is just really quick for the most part. I can’t think of anything she has that really stands out.

This is the current teir list from vampire dcc where I go for vampire information and funny babel fish translations… Apparently they think the game is pretty balanced.

Ah, see that looks a lot better, and yeah, compared to most games, it is pretty balanced. Top tiers have their BS, but everyone can win because of all the options available.

I see a lot of Bishamon/Sasquatch/Zabel/B.B. Hood in finals, and there’s usually an Aulbath player who makes it to semis, but not a lot of Q-Bee/Gallon for whatever reason.

how come in all the vids i seen i see sasquatch losing in japan? do they tier him different in japan like they do with jedah? sasquatch is still a beast though, just wondering why at high level play he comes up short.

Unfortunately…

The Jedah basically owned the fuck out of everybody he played in the tournament until his loss, and in casual he got the Zabel down to a pixel and then lost it… but the score for the race to 10 is either 10 to 1 or 10 to 2. It’s stupid. Like, no disrespect to Nasu, it’s just this guy is working sooo hard and he doesn’t really get rewarded for it at all.

For jedah, there is a video set on youtube of daigo going on a huge win streak with him… He even does a few reps of the jedah dashing Fierce infinite on the computer. Look for it on youtube… gbursine used to have it hosted somewhere.

Sas is the best character in the game, there really isn’t a u.s. Tier list for this game, it just didn’t get enough attention here.

He has the longest range jab in the game, it beats out basically everything, that dumb ass ice pillar move, broken as fuck, he also has a really dumb command grab that can lead to almost an entire stock being taken from you, and a really fast unblockable super that does retarded damage, I’m sure there is more too.

Just for everyones info there are only a couple of punishable normals for each character, oddly enough almost every normal in the game leaves you at an advantage.

koh - i know sasquatch has all those tools. its just that i rarely see him win, which surprises me. maybe the opponent is just really outsmarting them and using their character to the fullest…pretty inspiring :bgrin: . btw this game is awesome, by far my favorite and its just been 3 days :bgrin: :lovin:

there were some older videos between the best Bulleta and best sasquatch in japan… and basically it was all sassy rape… Bulleta one like 1 or 2.
