The japanese are fucking ridiculous @ this game. Even if it IS somewhat laggy, you can still learn something. I’ve stole so many tricks from the jap players and how they typically approach this game.
I can honestly say that every time I’ve played a long set with the japanese, I’ve gotten exponentially better. Trust me, it helps to play them.
I know people may get at me for saying this, but watch match vids of japanese too. I can’t get on ggpo yet until i bootcamp my mac, but i’ll tell you that I’ve learned everything i know from match vids…It sounds silly but there are people who can vouch for me(not saying that actual comp hasn’t helped either.). I virtually get no comp and I’m able to quickly adapt to human opponents. When i first played Nohoho he whooped on me, but i learned after playing him and was able to beat him. Suck it up and play on ggpo dude, i hate playing online too, but this is the one game that I love so much that i’ll play it on whatever conditions…
I consider watching vids an integral part of learning in any fighting games I play, unless the game is so new that nobody even knows what they are doing. It’s especially useful when starting out, a little less so once you get fairly good at the game but there’s always things to be learned from better players.
Get you game back from WM so we can get some games in. You know me and Anakron are def down. Maybe even others. Just have to be easy and sort of teach them so they don’t discouraged.
Yeah, you’re correct, the Japanese are insane in VS. Thing is, it’s no point in playin Japanese players if i can’t pull off the same shit i can against Americans. My defense suffers just too much if i have noticeable delay. I see where you’re coming from, but i just can’t take alot of button delay. Thats pretty much why i stopped playin a lot of different fighters on PSN,
Thank u for coming at me with some respect. Maybe I’ll get my net upgraded or some shit.
@Hard bread
I got about 2-3 gigs VS, so i watch a lot of top play and it does help a lot! Now i just need to sit down in training mode and get my BnB down.
I can feel your pain and I was hoping you would take my earlier comment as a motivational jab to get better. I was really trying to get into your head and tell you “Look if you’re gonna complain about delay then resign yourself to not getting better. Stop QQ’ing please.”
But even if there is delay, just play. I get lag from japanese players, but it’s all good. I use it as great matchup experience and try to build on my game.
Also, the thing is, you seem really hard to talk to when someone’s trying to give you advice. I mention things and you shrug me off. So if you want to get better, at least listen when other people are trying to give advice instead of having it be like “Pfft, w/e this shit works against this guy, this should work for every person.”
Wtf is wrong with niggas on the net? You’re not my father, you don’t no me like that! if u got nothing constructive to say, then just stfu talking to me! I don’t need to hear a random ass dude on the net telling me what to do. Especially if u can’t say something with some kind of respect.
Yeah u right, i am hard to talk to sometimes. It just felt like i was being interrogated. Sometime u just come off the wrong way. Like “just sit there.” Why come off like that? That’s mad disrespect to me. When u question someone tactics, u shouldn’t throw in u think it’s stupid to depend on the opponent to jump or some shit either. U can give me advice with respect, u know? U come correct then i’ll take that advice. I got no reason not to take w/e u guys got to say. as long as it’s in a respectful manner. That’s all i’m askin.
Anyways, i’m sorry for flipping out like that. Been going through some shit. Lack of sleep can start to fuck with someone. No hard feelings.
Be nice. Take the advice people are giving out. Play everyone from anywhere. And keep improving.
I am by no means a good player. I like the game and I play lag or no lag. I take my beatings, learn and try to get better.
I mean there is nothing more that you can do right? You don’t have the circle of players/arcade in your area to improve offline but you can’t, or shouldn’t let that stop you. Keep playing. You’ll win with enough practice sooner or later.
Sometimes we come off as abrasive to certain people, but you need to take things with a grain of salt sometimes. Not all advice is gonna come out with a ribbon on top of it and all fluffy. We’re all guys (for the most part) and we are very macho, so we have to act that way and tell you that you’re stupid and no good and are a scrub. But please don’t make it out to be that I’m being an asshole to you just because I like to be that guy. I said your use of overhead was stupid and then I explained WHY I thought it was stupid. I could have said “You dumb fucking scrub, why are you using that fucking overhead? Jesus christ, get off my server kid.” But I didn’t. I asked you nicely “Hey why do you do that?” and then I said it was stupid of you to do that. Then I explained why. I wasn’t insulting your play or you as a person, I just thought in that specific situation you are being dumb. Big difference there.
I’m a very cordial guy for the most part, but the thing I will say is this. Get used to people making fun of you or saying quasi-direspectful things to you. I’m the butt of many a joke in the VS server. But it’s all good, because these guys are like friends to me and I know they are just joking or trying to get me better. What everyone is trying to say is not really “stop crying on the thread you scrub.” It’s more like “Look, we know you’re frustrated, but you need to work through it and just get better.”
As far as lack of sleep goes, I understand. I spent a long time trying to get over something and it affected the way I treated people. You seem like a cool guy and some people that I talk to say you’re pretty cool. Dont’ give me reason to think otherwise, because I’m not trying to be a dick just to be one. I’m trying to get you to ignore all the bullshit in life and focus yourself on getting better.
You want to get better? Take advice from all sides, no matter how it’s given. Getting “disrespectful” advice is better than getting no advice at all and letting you continue your bad habits. When I was learning, I got that shit. I still do. But I don’t rage all over the thread when someone says something snarky to me (looking at you Fuzzy and Ken).
Can you? I’d like to have one at the crib. I thought you gave him your original. My mistake.
I’m gonna try and make it to CF more on Fridays so I can get some games in with you, nohoho, and that lame bulleta you speak off. I am actually finally getting better use of leilei’s IAD’s just learning from letting Kaj use me as a punching bag.
