Vampire Community Thread: GGPO Hitbox Overlay. Dustloop Tutorial #2 and Why You Lose To Me?

That’s after-qualifiers casuals. That Game A-cho channel never really uploads tourney footage.

Is it being streamed?

Uh wait, DCC isn’t until September Mar.

So I was just looking at some old videos from UFGT7 of the Vampire Savior tournament and was awestruck. It was a really good event and I was really happy for you guys. Seeing Mighty Mar’s Anakaris, was a sight to behold, and Kajoq’s Lei-Lei was like poetry in motion. It was just so beautiful!

Now, I just wanted to say that I’ve been meaning to get back into the game. I got my start with Darkstalkers 1 and was fairly solid with Jon Talbain. I am a HUGE, HUGE, DS fan and I recently found out about GGPO. I really wanted to know how to set it up. I really want to join in on the fun but I’m not sure how to set up GGPO. I’m using a HP Laptop, and I’m just basically new to the whole GGPO thing.

Well anyway, I just wanted to give a big shoutout to the entire DS community. Keep up the good work guys, I’m so proud of all of you!

Lucky, it’s really pretty easy. All you need to do is get ggpo (you will need ROMs since it utilizes an emulator). That alone will get you able to log in and chat in the lobby.

To actually play you’ll most likely need to mess with your router settings - that’s documented in a bunch of places including the GGPO download page itself http://ggpo.net/download/

Oh, you’ll need to make an account on ggpo as well (free, might not work immediately. You need to be careful (correct) w/ capitalization of the BOTH name and password or it won’t log in.

Who is the best Morrigan player in Japan right now?

I hope you guys are getting hype for this coming weekend!

DCC is going on today, can one of the VS vets get in touch with a mod and get a front page article going? oouchi said 2pm Japan time is when it will start, 2 day event. Today is the 5v5 event and tomorrow is the 2v2 dcc

for those that don’t get to play often, stream should have nothing but high level players. The game is really old so its doubtful you’ll see ANY scrubs.

Looking forward to it! Unfortunately it looks like there won’t be any Hunter at the first day event this year (at least, that’s what Sakamoto said during a stream a few months ago… maybe things have changed since then). There will still be Hunter at the main event, though.

Games are running on sakomotosan’s stream right now it seems to be a practice session for tomorrow’s big 5v5 tournament. catch it now http://www.ustream.tv/channel/sakamotosan+.

Rithli and min are doing a restream right now on twitch.tv/min2012 get on it woot woot!!

OMG! HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE HYPE!!!

The 5-on-5 tourney had a whopping 82 participants, the biggest turnout yet for that event. The winning team consisted of Kaji, Shimatsuya, Chikyuu, Oboro, and Dara.

DCC is live now!!!

Oh shit, my boy Chikyuu and Shima are there too? It’s about to be on like muthafuckin’ popcorn!! GOGOGOGO!

lilith is probably the 4th worst character in the game and she just won dcc?

dumbfounded. Capcom needs to look back @ this game for future references as to how balance can be achieved. Dumbing down a fighting game takes certain balance elements out of the equation completely. You don’t need ultras, xfactor or any other type of comeback mechanic, you just need to give characters fundamental options on fundamental layers and that pretty much solves the balance problem.

Games shouldn’t be unbalanced anymore, there are too many instances of fighters being balanced for 10+ years and this is one of them. Arguably the most balanced fighting game ever made and its definitely the most balanced fighters Capcom has ever made IMO.

its roughly 2012 and sf4 STILL isn’t balanced from head to toe…

This is the first I’ve heard about this.

I’m not saying I believe you’re wrong, but could you expand on it?

i forget the specifics. it was nekohashi who confirmed this. I felt it at ECT when we had a setup there.

nekohashi said that its all emulation, so it isnt perfect. He said of the consoles, ss version is the smoothest, but the game engine is inaccurate.

he’d said that the alpha port was 100% perfect though, 1p or 2p. I guess they had a different team migrate the games over.

So it’s only in 2p games? About how much input lag is there?

i can’t tell, but its significant enough for me to notice.

also, i have finally finished my 27 page application for real-world related things. expect some non-final-8 evo vsav matches within the week
