See ya soon, Bobby.
It’s not as bad as you’ve heard. You’re only talking about one person. If I heard that you threw your stick at a wall and shattered it into pieces after a beating in SFIV, I wouldn’t go around saying “SoVA needs to chill out and stop raging over losses in a video game.” Don’t be so worried.
I’m going out and playing fighting games with numerous people. I’m active, and so is everyone else doing it. I don’t have to play the same games all the “cool kids” play, participate in fantasy football, or post random Youtube links that nobody cares about to be considered active. I didn’t bag on people for lining up to play Big Bang Beat on a laptop or wanting to roll-up to Newport News to play Arcana Heart 2, because my opinion is: “Something is better than nothing, even if I don’t like it.” I’m sure I’m not the only person who thinks that.
I’m not really bagging on anyone here for not playing SvC Chaos, because my attitude on that is “live and let live.” But I don’t get what progress is being made when it comes to people being sore about Chaos being played in an arcade, while Marvel, 3rd Strike, CvS2, or the usual Capcom stuff that everyone’s been playing for nearly a decade are nearly dead. I’m sorry that none of those people have anyone to play with; maybe they could try broadening their horizons.
Well, they can all stay home and keep the scene alive by typing “Marvel>Chaos” on an online message board, and I’ll go out to play fighting games with other people (new and old) and ruin the scene by having fun and supporting one of the few arcades left in the area. Cheers.
It’s true that things have been slow latey. And as much as I get sick of people talking about it, I agree that a lot of these new games have been a letdown. But those same letdowns attracted most of the new talent that you miss. And last I checked, people (not just random scrubs that just got here) treated Intruder Alert, Aleri, and others like Jay in VA like shit for silly reasons like “not being og” and still winning. SoVA isn’t as welcoming to new talent as people like to pretend that it is.
I’m not sure what drama you’re talking about, but that’s probably because I don’t consider a lot of the funny stuff going on here “drama.” I’m all ears, though.
And to clear this up because it’s a computer and I don’t want this taken the wrong way: I’m cool with you, Miyagi. I’m only giving you a big, opinionated reply because you made one of the few posts that I liked among a bunch of posts that looked like a waste of text. Glad to have you on here.
Sounds like Marvel, which wasn’t much of a revival either. Same people played it, even though others dabbled with it but to no long extent. The only thing new was no Dreamcasts in the room.
And I save all of my hate mail. I dunno if you do that, but next time you bring your PS3 we should exchange. This dude gave me a “Why u act like dat” rant topped off with a picture of Eminem. I didn’t get it, but I laughed.
I played Tekken for a bit last night at the arcade. People are already looking forward to getting serious once T6 starts, even though it’ll be their first.
Playing fighting games at your place and then topping it off with MGO, if I’m invited.
If not, I’ll probably take it easy in the morning, be up and around in the afternoon, and maybe stop by the mall towards the evening to visit my SvC Chaos (most hype game ever) empire, where dreams are made and broken, and when dreams are broken you get laughed at by bystanders and guys in red vests.
At the next ranbat, are you considering doing SFIV and Marvel?
I know, right.
