The scrub to non-scrub ratio is about 10-1 here in Sova… when it should be like, 2-1
Theres plenty of scrubs in other places. They just never post.
You fail at interpretation. SOVA as a whole would be competitive if there were 3 pros, and that was it. But when Sova has 3 pros, and 30 scrubs, it’s like… uhhh… what went wrong???
Why can’t there be 10 pros, and 20 scrubs? Or even better? There’s nothing from stopping that from happening… Just no one wants to step out of scrubdom. Oh well, I’m not complaining. I’m just gonna do me. However, it would be nice to have a variety of training partners… rather than just one or two.

well there is different reasons, some of use are true to the friends and ponies aspect of this. fun, I know it is a pain to not have a high level of training, but also as the scene gets older training time goes out the window, now obviously this isn’t a complete reason why so many of us are untrained and scrubby. just some, or well least it doesn’t help some…
if only they let me setup a stick and system to one of the gazillion tv’s i have surrounding me i could train up, but nope, just mtv jams and the occasionally msnbc on these tv’s, until football starts… then msnbc will out of the loop…
and damnit they blocked the chat from here… bah humbug…
Is it really that easy? I have been playing for 5 years now and I can’t seem to get better, even with other vets helping me out (which they have been so nice to do). I blame 3 major points.

My lack of competition (in my area) or any real-life-adversary at all
Marvel is a great example. In training mode I can do simple FF combos and DHC of doom and other stuff but I rarely get them off in a match, if ever. What am I doing wrong? I don’t want to be the best, I obviously don’t have that much free time, but I do want to be able to have a good time playing the games how they are supposed to be played.
Now that the internet isn’t as laggy I have been able to get much better at games, take HDR for example, the first game I was actually ‘good’ at. I think it was because of the time I spent playing real life people over XBL.
Any tips on how I could NOT be a scrub would be great. 
As with almost all games and maybe to a greater extent with marvel because of the fast-paced gameplay, putting anything you learn in training mode to use in actual gameplay comes from experience.
The first time i played marvel with someone who played competitively was when i met foomy, and that was i dont know how long ago. I got my ass handled i dont think i could ever kill one of his characters. All the while im at home ROMing cable to death in training mode and practicing unfly combos. None of which i could apply because i simply didnt have enough knowledge of the game to put them to use properly
