Instead of playing P4A you should be playing Guilty Gear / BlazBlue and maybe some Street Fighter, maybe some KoF.
Speaking of which, anyone interested in trying to learn KoF again? (assuming it will be an EVO game this year.) Bit off topic, but how’s Juri? Ultra 1 looks like way too much fun.

Juri is pretty fun but she has some serious weaknesses like shitty ex moves and no wake up options. She is also hard to play correctly but she is still fun.

I just cant get back into street fighter. Everytime i sit down and Try to play it theres just something about it that draws me away from it. Dont get me wrong i like the game for some of the characters like guy and ibuki but its like i dont have the patience to play the game. I think its how you have to play carefully and how there’s alot of footsies involved. Im not going to take p4a seriously its just a fun game at the moment. I will only play ae tomorrow online on xbox so lets see how that goes.

I think that is one of the flaws with this scene is its either sf4, or marvel, or nothing no matter how much you love the game you just gotta go with the status quo games kind of mentallity that sickens me. There is always an online community if there is not a local one Ive noticed that with my vf5fs. I understand that everyone has preferences thats why I don’t follow the scene blindly and I play what I like. I rememeber someone wanting to get into doa but someone told them to play the new tekken. People just play what you want.

It’s more like, play Street Fighter and only Street Fighter, but I do agree with you 100%.

I buy and play pretty much every fighting game that comes out so if any of you want me to bring one for casuals ever at a ranbats or anything I go to just say so and I will. Only thing I don’t own is DOA right now.

Play what u like. However for local comp it’s sf4 with small pockets of mk and marvel. U can play anything online. Just depends how bad of netcode u can tolerate for some games. As u can see on streams our scene follows the general popularity of most regions however marvel is way more popular.

IPL6 will be March 29-31 in Vegas at the Cosmopolitan; Easter weekend, same weekend as Final Round. Seriously considering on going to IPL6 bc it has SF4 and LOL and SC2. Gonna talk to a few friends first. Hope SF4 is open bracket; pretty sure it will be though.

I thought I heard that they were gonna have qualifier tournaments since all the games they have ever had you have had to win a qualifier to play in the actual IPL tourny. They wanna try to get online quals to work as well.

They are gonna use “community run tournaments” as qualifiers. They will probably make it similar to MLG starcraft, where it’s open tourney, but if you qualified you are deeper in the bracket or higher seeded. FGC is too small to make it qualifier only participants; this shit ain’t LOL or SC2.

Since we’re on the topic of tournaments. I’d like to formally announce Salt Fest. Salt Fest is a regional that is going to be here, in Utah. It will be held May 10-11 of 2013. Is Utah Salt Fest the first tournament in the series? I’m pretty hyped because I’ve always wanted a decent-sized tournament in Salt Lake; it’s only 3 hours away from me (usually have to travel 8+ for a tournament). Hopefully it can be the beginning of a real major in Utah, I saw Jebailey was interested in coming out, after all.

Well. I wonder if they won’t have fighting games at all, or will reschedule them to Friday or something to that extent. I want to see what they say in a few weeks.

If IPL6 has no fighting games, then decision will be easy. . .FINAL ROUND FINAL ROUND. I like LOL, but I love SF4. And LOL nor SC hype doesn’t compare to FGC hype. . .I shouldn’t say that. . .nothing compares to FINAL ROUND hype; you really have to be there to understand.

Jebaily is expected to come and we’ll have confirmation in February. This is the first large scale tournament in Utah and we are expecting to turn this into a major.
