Utah is considering cutting the 12th Grade

septimus prime

this sentence reads poorly to my eyes is there something wrong with me?

“The problem with linguistics is that it tries to throw out the window effective communication”

also cant you partially fix the problem with

“Utah doing shit that doesn’t make sense again”

by just adding … after Utah and another comma after sense?

or you could fix the entire sentence by wording it like

“Utah, still doing shit that doesn’t make sense” (??)

but I think grade 12 is moot cause the people who need to stay in school can just stay in school cant they? do 2 years of grade 11? but change the courses? or can you only do grade 11 twice if you fail the first time?

I knew by high school whether or not I liked math or science, etc. Also, you’re right about AP classes. I’ve never regretted taking AP. It was probably the most important thing I did in HS. But not everyone does that. In fact most don’t.

I’m just saying we need to revamp things because for the most part I just wasted time and learned a lot more than my colleagues at work (which is cool). But it still took me almost as much time to get the same degree they got and we all make the same. So what was the point of doing well in high school if it barely got me through college faster? (And for a lot of people doing well STILL didn’t benefit them during college). They need to provide options for those of us who were a little ahead of the curve to start college faster. That way we wouldn’t be a burden on the public education system as long and we could contribute to the economy a whole helluva lot faster.

And what’s up with schools wanting to get rid of history classes? And numerous teachers have been saying for a few months now that schools try to pigeonhole you into a lifelong career choice by 10th grade. Isn’t that what communist countries do? “You will do this, and only this, for the rest of your life.”
