Using all 8 buttons in a tourney

If you’re using more than five buttons, you’re not playing as fast as you could.

But a bit easier to perform, ala plinking?

i started this thread to find out if its legal. read the op(i specificly mentioned im not looking for peoples opinions because i knew fags would come out of their holes, no pun intented, to flame). some “arcade nazis” as you call them dont like it much.i dont really care. funny thing is i’m a 29 year old arcade fighting game junkie who can talk about the good ole days better, probably, than most of the people hating on the idea. i like my execution as 100% as possible in game… where its legal i’ll use it. where its not then ill play normal and risk ex coming out sometimes. big fucking deal. im not there to worry about peoples opinions of whats scrubby etc… im there to beat your ass and win money while abiding by the rules. you should always do anything legal that helps you win. there is no cheap when money is on the line. didnt mean to start a shitstorm

Good job buy premium rep and trying to neg me you fool…you need at least 500 posts before you can neg someone…you fail.

This shit keeps getting funnier…!

actually they are different.

perfect double tap = 1st frame button down, 2nd frame button up, 3rd frame button down.

perfect two button tap = 1 frame button down, 2nd frame 2nd button down.

perfect p-link = 1 frame button down, 2nd frame some lower priority button down. (risk of ex if 2nd button is same row as 1st)

or in other words, it’s impossible to get inputs on 2 consecutive frames with a double tap.

this is a minor difference but a somewhat important one when it comes to 1 frame links as well as piano inputs (hhs, electricity, etc.)

it’s also the reason p-link is superior to double tap.

not really trying to argue anything here. just pointing this out.

also i don’t know why you would want to learn anything on more than 6 buttons and handicap yourself if you ever go to an arcade. i guess it’s not a big deal if you have no arcades near you and don’t ever plan at playing at any.

I really would hope that 100% of console tournaments would allow all of the buttons. I have serious issues hitting LP+MP+HP simultaneously.

Its part of the game… and gives you scope to practice and get better at it, it will feel rewarding when you do. You will also notice other top players missing these things from time to time too… it contributes to making the game interesting.

Reading this thread really has made me realise that theres a whole bunch of people out there who would have all manner of shit enabled if it was “allowed by the game”. shit if the game would let you add combo macros youd be doing that then trying to edge the rules so yours was better than the others (what a shit game that would be)… its like people dont value actual skill and taking the time to learn how to play them game with the universal tools available… i guess this is all just my preference tho (in life as much as in the game), and as i think most top players know (of which i am not), it doesnt matter what buttons you got where.

Plus the op already knows what he’s guna do - bad mouthing peeps that disagree so go on… map that shit if you wanna. (you still a fassie sf imo, I’d cheer for anyone playing against someone with “extra buttons” on a stick).

Here’s where I stopped reading.
