That was embarrassing…

That was as bad as the Canadian NT being owned 8-1 against the Honduran NT.

Sent from Hueco Mundo using Garganta Talk.

Shoutouts to Cammy Player Syndrome, Akuma having no bad matchups and Xian playing SF literally on wakeup.

Strongest MM incoming

does someone know when fchamp/lapchie are gonna do it?

holy shit this is way too hype

I find it funny how people are getting upset at team Korea “taking time” to read notes or w/e they’re doing.

Korea, in terms of any kind of competitive gaming, take their games seriously. From their point of view and how everybody else is acting, they probably think everybody else thinks that this is just a joke. So what if Laugh told his teammate to take the point because of the other team pausing? That’s per the rules. There’s no rule stating how long you pick your character and get into the match, though my belief is that after this tournament, somebody will think of a way to stop this.

I know Champ is like the biggest dick in the world

the notes thing is whatever, i think there should be a time limit considering how long they took between every single match, despite how unlikely it was for their opponent to actually beat them or whatever… but the pr rog pause thing was total bs. sure its a rule, but obviously pr rog had the round and for them to force them to give up the round is just a joke… and all of that happened against team koreas arguably worst player, when pr rog had like 2 or 3 more players after him to actually win??? give him a break, just let him have the round he earned

Like Gootecks/James Chen/FChamp stated during stream, it’s the honor code. Not everybody follows it because it’s not official. The rules however, are official, and if Korea wanted to enforce the rules that everybody was aware of, then they have every right to do so.

FChamp disrespecting Korea in the runback was just unnecessary. Just body them since you’re that much better than them, rather than do a million teleports when the opponent has a pixel left. Doing that isn’t going to make more Koreans take the game more serious but rather, turn them away to go play something else.

My only issue is how long it took. But, that could be a strat too, to get the other guy to lose his momentum (just like how Infrit always goes back to character select, but on another level). I laughed when Infiltration took the stick in the final set all mad and hyped, picks Akuma in a rush, and then spends 10 minutes checking notes on Bonchan.

Korea was allowed to get the round. I really don’t care about Champ’s disrespect, more actual rivalries are always good, what I don’t understand is why would he do it to the Gen player when Laugh was the one who pretty much pressured the Gen player into taking the round?.

If Filipino Champ did that he is an asshole. I’m looking for the video cause I missed the stream last night and Im excited for it.

Archives won’t be up until in two weeks time unless you’re a subscriber.

Also, no. Why would he be an asshole? The koreans decided to be complete dorkfucking unsportsmanlike because it’s allowed in the rules. Champ did the same right back. This was probably the most deserved trollish spit-in-the-face I’ve ever seen.

I dont think so. I agree with following the rules and making it professional, and not necessarily taking it personally.

F.C. is an asshole because he acted like one out of spite, whereas the Koreans were following the rules because they take the game ( and the tournament) seriously enough to have the rules be followed. You’re smart enough to know the difference.

Koreans do an asshat thing (claiming a win in a clearly lost round) because the rules allow it (allow, not demand!) for their own benefit (bigger likelihood of winning)
FChamp does an asshat thing (trolling in both picks and the game) because the rules allow it (nothing forbids this) for his own benefit (personal satisfaction)

The only actual difference is that FChamp did it as a repercussion while the Kors did it just to do it, so their act be damned and he just did what was right to do.

I would understand if the Korea move made them win the set. That was not the case and they only embarrassed themselves, so why make a fuss ? In the end Korea eliminated them fair and square despite all F-Champ childish behaviour.

Time to grow up.

:shy:

That’s what I mean. When you face childish behaviour, you don’t act even more childish. You show them you’re above all this, you take them out, shake hands, and THEY will feel pathetic. You don’t act all angry and lose in the end.

To each its own I guess.

There’s no pause button in the arcade. What makes you think that you can freely pause during a tournament? Trolling is only awesome if you end up winning, turns out they still got bodied by Infiltration. Pathetic.

Of course you can be above all of it, just play through and win (like eg Juicebox did vs Erickson @EVO11… funnily enough there’s no videos of that left over).
Of course what FChamp did was essentially “childish behaviour”. That’s beside the point.

If someone slaps you before a competition, you can shrug it off and just compete normally, or you can smack them back in the face. Which action is the “cooler”, “manlier”, or whatever one? Decide that for yourself. But neither action is one that anyone can condemn.

FChamp did what he wanted to do, and he had every right to do it. If you think that’s childish, think so. But calling him an asshole for that is very, very off.
