Have you actually seen her buttons? cr.LP, st.LP, cr.MP (jesus christ cr.MP), st.LK, slide and cr.HK and LK Tsumuji are all excellent footsie tools. cl.MP, st.LP and EX DP are all good AA’s, if cl.MP lands correctly she can get a juggle combo from there. I fail to see how her “non-knockdown” gameplan is not great.
I think she’s hard in terms of knowing what buttons to press when. She has* really* strong buttons but there’s no real catch-all button, tho cr. mp is the clearest it has the slower startup and not catching lower stuffs, slide takes spacing, etc.
I’ll add to your list fwd lk, it’s got pretty good range and is fast and relatively safe. St. HK (her little jump kick thing) is pretty good too.
PR Rog should retire now from the way he’s playing. His body language looks like he doesn’t care, he doesn’t want to be there and I’m only doing this because of my sponsor. He bodied Smug before with his Balrog, why use Evil Ryu? Rog’s isn’t that good. I know he has a job now, but he can do way better than that abysmal performance.
How many comebacks can BJ make , good god. That last Ultra hitting and then whiffing by Bonchan was extremely unfortunate, aside from eating two or three major comebacks the cherry on top was the game fucking him over lol.
Bonchan knew the matchup really really well, the spacing, the punishes, the neutral etc. He just got overrun by some solid play but even more so, absolute relentless risktaking that almost defies logic. BJ has a wierd playstyle, he is really solid and clean at one moment and then switches to a messy balls to the walls playstyle.
As a Cody player i’m ofcourse rooting for fellow Cody players but on another hand i cannot say i want to emulate my playstye to be like BJ’s, probably couldn’t even if i wanted to. BJ seems to have a knack for reading people’s mindsets, it seems extremely uncomfortable to play against him.
I didn’t want to discredit his win by saying “if it was a ft5/7/10”. I mean, this is a ft2 and upsets are going to happen, and he has the right playstyle for short sets, and a win is a win.
