I agree with you, the counter picking was ridiculous. Other than that and the tourney being 2/3, it was great. Not better than last years own though. Sako should have had a automatic spot since he was the reigning champion.
yeah picking characters you think give you the best chance to win is stupid. should just be character lock so the aesthetics of the match are preserved for you and you can imagine the players are actually each character!

Also if Capcom wants a better event they shouldn’t make the whole tournament just one big double-elim bracket. With the smaller number of players in attendance, why not something like round-robin pools?
round robin or longer sets would really be great. 2/3 is a a good format, but not a great one for smaller tournaments.

The band on the other hand… holy shit what a bunch of arrogant douche bags who cant even play their instruments well. I’m more convinced that Capcom hates megaman based on their band choice than based on them basically ignoring the franchise for the past few years.

It wasnt even his DJ’ing that really bothered me. It’s that this dude showed up to a 50k+ viewer stream and played babby’s first dubstep/electronica/EDM like it was that new hotness

From a spectator standpoint, every single round in every single match was thrilling because they meant so much.
I would’ve been mad as a player though and obviously such a format doesn’t lead to the best player winning and then only paying the 3 highest finishers is a bit lame.
