If the static backgrounds can be animated as a background , that would be awesome imo.

an animated background with as low as 3 frames would be nice enough …

An interesting idea, but I have absolutly no knowledge whatsoever about that kind of problem. Also, as interesting as it may be, the above 3 frames thing is just not good enough imho, I would get a headache after one match on this stage^^.

cool. i’m trying to make chun-li costume from the sf animated movie atm

The Gymnast attire looks great, though I think it would look cooler if she had something on her legs, like short tights or ankle tape or something…wow, I am complaining about pants less Women…

But then it wouldn’t be much of a gymnast outfit ;_;

In other news, I’ve started modeling a version of the gymnast costume that will use far fewer model swaps. It probably won’t even be finished by Christmas, however.

Well, no, it wouldn’t… but it would…fine you got me. I just like the Tape >.>

@Geoduck
maybe, but I’m going to guess not, at least not without hacking the executable. I doubt it’s stored in a file anywhere, though I could be wrong.

@CHANCE69
The DDS format that the game uses for textures can’t be animated. The closest thing you can do, AFAIK, is to use the textures’ mipmaps to show different frames at different distances. People that mod racing games do it to make color-shifting paint jobs on cars. I don’t imagine that would look very good in our case, but who knows.

I tried my best for cody, but it came out awful lol. I was going for the look that ryu has here

Any tips?

does any body know how to recalculate the normals of a meshs

I love you.

I hereby anounce that the Ultra Light Stage Mod is finished. I should pack everything and upload the beast tomorrow.

But before that, I wanted to ask one thing: how about building the archive so that all the files go to “patch1a/…”, thus not overwriting the original files ? That would remove the need to backup, which regarding the number of files in the mod, would be a real pain in the ass (of course, you should still backup any files you put in that folder on purpose).

So, good or not so good idea (and why) ? I will do it unless someone gives me a good reason not to (might mess up the mod with future updates ?)

edit: took some time to up some the pictures of the select stage menu !

There’s 2 layouts : one for my private version of the mod (including 3 stages I didn’t get the authorization to use yet…if it comes later, I’ll update the mod), and the other for public release.

First, the public release layout part 1:

… and part 2 (the “End of the World” stage is LAB in the public release, and TRN in mine. You get the standard Training stage instead):

… and the final part:

Plus the 3 stages that might be released later on if I can get the proper authorization for doing so (yes, I like to tease :p):

Oh, and to tease a bit more, here’s the content overview for the whole mod:

  • 21 brand new stages, with new selection screen pictures and text.
  • All the stages are based on the original stages’locations.
  • Music that fits each stage’s atmosphere (optional feature, needs the “Custom BGM” option to be turned off ; most tracks coming from the “Rival Music DIY Replacements” mod by forthright55, others coming from SSFIIHDR).
  • Mutes the announcer before the fight, so that he doesn’t say the name of the original stage (optional feature).
  • Comes in two versions : one for ENG characters’names (Bison=Dictator), one for JPN characters’names (Bison=Boxer), thus being compatible with ALL versions of the game (and with the “ENG to JPN Boss Character Names” mod by Jay Vasquez 77).

Awesome!!! the suspense is killllling meeee lol

is it possible to make animated stages? even the light ones look amazing.

Inspired by one of her outfits from the Street Fighter II Animated Movie. Includes all 10 colors. Every even number colors are a bloodied, torn clothing version of the odd number colors. Unlike my previous Chun Li gymnast costume that was made of different overlapping body parts, this costume just uses one single mesh for the body - so no more weird cracks above the stomach and on her back, and the texture for the body is all on one DDS file

I love you sloth. :slight_smile:

Sloth, I would totally play that green variant at every possible turn.

Perfect! Now we need a blonde Balrog (not the d***ed boxer).
