Hey guys, so I want to start modding but the modding Iā€™d like to do is to with the movesets of the characters and properties, I envision a version of sf4 with all the very best versions of each characters minus all the nerfs of all the versions in 1 game, like combinig vanilla sagat with angry scar or givibg rose back her invincibity with ultra 2, problem is i donā€™t know where to start any suggestions? iā€™ve checked through the tuts and canā€™t seem to find anything on this kind of modding, iā€™m aware of sf4 koryu so iā€™m sure my vision is not an impossibility as those guys seem to be on the right track in terms of modding individual moves, i havenā€™t bought AE yet but will have it in a few weeks, if any1 has spare time on thier hands would they be willing to port a vanilla charater version, say ryu over to AE and see what the results are, sure I spoke about it a while back, but just to see would the game crash up? what would happen if ultra 2 is selected whilst the vanilla version never had it, would it just duplicate ultra 1? if any1 can test those things Iā€™d much appreciate it!

edit: Also has any1 tried making the boss versions of evilryu, shin akuma, seth and so forth playable? are they individual files that can be renamed or tampered with to make them playable or are they hidden somewhere? because iā€™d like to use those versions instead if possible!

I found this fucking game a lot more lagger than sf4. What do you think about that?

The boss thing (except for Seth) was just done by error1, though I donā€™t think he was able to change their health, just their moves. Check the wiki.

Unfortunately, vanilla movesets cause the game to crash and Anotakā€™s tools (same guy who made SF4 Remix) wonā€™t open them either, at the moment. Iā€™ve already asked if heā€™d be interested in adding support for vanilla files to his tools to do precisely what youā€™ve described and he said itā€™s on his long list of things to work on, so maybe someday.

I never played vanilla online much, but Iā€™ve had a good (if limited) online experience with AE. No noticeable lag at all, in fact.

Thereā€™s something weird with your training stage, the weirdest being that it works. o_O
It looks like your STG_TRN.emz file is from Vanilla.
Other than that, I really like what you did with the bridge.

lol yeah, rather than remake it from scratch, I had just copied it straight from vanillla to see if it would work (days ago, back when I first got the game). The geometry worked, but the texture wasnā€™t showing up, so I just injected that into the AE tex.emz. An ugly hack with a bunch of redundancy between the 2 files, but it seemed to do the trick :stuck_out_tongue:

Does anyone have a mod on hand that gets rid of Hakanā€™s cupcake hair? Iā€™m working on a more ā€œhumanā€ looking Hakan skin but the hair is throwing everything off :sad:

We are all supporting Capcom and not even bothering with trying to hack that since we want to support the game on PC so future fighters come to it, hypothetically anyway.

Well, upon testing this new face, I found that itā€™s actually partially the skeleton (HKN.skl.emo) causing the lumps on his head. Guessing the next logical step would be to just add someone elses hair to his head? How would I go about doing that?

I was thinking something like what Dan has for hair default. Even something simple (Ryu, maybe?) would be fine, feel free to put your own creativity in there if youā€™d like, you can have the credit, of course :slight_smile:

Could you guys tell me what software you use to mod your models? I know people use Misfit Model 3D and zbrush, but Iā€™m tired of using that primitive program and I donā€™t know how to use zbrush yet. Has any one had any luck with using 3ds max or blender ? I have both programs and I know how to use them both, but every time I use them in try to import parts of the model piecemonteeSF4explorerV0.37b, I get an error.

@mugenlove Yeah, I had that too, you canā€™t add or subtract any vertices, otherwise you get errors, but I think thereā€™s a work around if you can figure out the Hex editor

If you find a way to add polygons please make a higher quality version of the characters! :smiley:

Okay, so I know how to make clothes glowy and shiny and uuber reflectiveā€¦ How exactly do you remove articles of a characterā€™s model without doing it in the main OBJ.EMO file?

Even so, could someone simplify this using the Matedit tool?

I would attempt to do it myself, but I have no idea what tools I would need. Iā€™ve looked at the tutorials, didnā€™t really help me all that much. lol
